2000 Porsche Boxster S Review
ProsRiding with the top down is a real pleasure. The way the seating and cabin is designed the wind does not buffet you the way it does with many convertibles. I also like how quiet the cabin is. ConsFairly large blind spot on the right side with the top up.

Great Little Little Car! — The Boxster S is a great car. I love the way it handles. The engine has good power and the clutch/gear box works smooth as silk. I have owned many sports cars and the Boxster S is easily the best handling and most fun you can have for the money! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

N/a — It is black with tan interior. It has a 5 speed transmission. It has a brand new top with a glass window. The motor has 30k miles on it and 113k on the rest of the car. It is a blast to drive with 230hp 230tq. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) | ||

Porsche Boxster 2.7 Cabriolet — Porsche Boxster 2.7 Convertible. Lovely Car in Black, with a green leather interior (the interior looks a lot better than it sounds!) Drives really well, a lot of fun for the more spirited driver!! Experience in rear wheel drive cars is recommended as the 2.7 6 cylinder boxer engine can make the back end quite lively, due to having no traction control (I think this was an optional extra) despite the perfect weight distribution of the mid engine floor plan. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) | ||

Not Cheap To Run But Worth It — Slower than i want it to be. Perhaps an S or a 911 would do the trick. Petrol is getting more expensive again so economy could be better but the heavy right foot won't lay off. Buy one for fun. Not For Me... — I bought this car for my wife, to replace the 380SL. Unfortunately we made the mistake of thinking the Tiptronic would be better for around-town driving in LA. Actually, its just boring. I'm sure a lot of people love their Boxsters but between the Ferrari and the Mercedes this car has become the red-headed stepchild and I just don't drive it. My wife got a dog, and the dog got a Jeep, so she doesn't drive it either. Sort of hanging on to it until I get our new house sorted, and then will trade it for something I actually want... |
