Pros

Handling, performance, reliable

Cons

High cost of maintenance, rear seat

Love It — This must be one of the best cars that Porsche makes. I like the smooth acceleration of this car and torque. The rear seat is non existent. Gas economy isn't that great. Love it anyway and would be it again.

Pros

Great car!  I would highly recommend that everyone at some point in the life own a Porsche.

Cons

You are always worried that someone will scratch or bump into your car.  You are treated differently, when you own a car like this.

Great Car! — I would highly recommend this car to anyone who has always wanted to own a sports car. It is fast, stylish, sleek and powerful. I have very few complaints. Having a convertible is like driving two different cars, one nicer than the other.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

Fun car to drive. Comfortable enough for long trips. One of the lightest models of water cooled 911's. It can outrun most mustangs, camaros, and a few corvettes in a straight line, and more so on winding roads.

Cons

The back seats are better suited for children, but can accommodate teens for an intermediate trip.

Good Looks And Performance. — I like everything about the car. It has been reliable and easy to maintain. Being my second Porsche, it was definitely the most fun. Soon it will be time for another one, and this baby will have to go so the next owner can enjoy it too.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Cons

Quicker Than The Wind — Everything's just fine. Can't wait to drive it on week-ends. Very reliable (even if small electrical problems). Don't park it in the streets (at least not in Paris...), and look carefully at the speedmeter when on the highway ! Quite fuel-consuming in traffic-jams, but not so much at maximum legal speed. 100% happy.

Fun Summer Car — This is a great second car. Kids fit in the back seats with a carseat and a booster seat. They'll probably fit comfortaly until they are 12 years old or so. For being a performance car, the maintenance is very reasonable. In fact, it is not different from most other cars.

Clutch! — I loved everything about it... all about the ride. It really gives you a unique experience to ride one the most coveted brands of all time. It's in the handle, it's the emotional connection you get when your cruising around!

Best 911 I ever owned

Cons

Back seat cargo capacity reduced from air cooled models

Fast And Responsive — Exterior design with rounded fenders is more attractive and aerodynamic than predecessors and in a way it resembles more the old beloved 356 than the earlier angular 911's. Plastic bumpers are a reality for all new vehicle so I can't complain even if I dislike them. Interior details are a bit lacking especially in the center console and door panels, which scratch easily if not very careful. "Magic Mender" does the trick though. This Carrera is the best Porsche I have ever owned, it is quick, agile and and feels completely safe on any surface. Gone is the extreme over-steer and the front end lift under acceleration, and at 0-60 in 5 seconds the 996 it is nothing to sneer at. This series has been vilified by so called "purists", accused of wide spread engine failures, and other terrible mechanical and aesthetic defects, etc. However, when one takes into account that more than 175,000 996's were built and only about 2,000 have had major reported problems, it does not seem that bad, does it? In fact, I do not remember any Porsche series that did not suffer some endemic mechanical failure. Like in every high performance sports cars ever built, meticulous maintenance and the avoidance of abuse is the key.to a long and enjoyable trouble free life, and what's most important: IT IS AFFORDABLE! If like me you are lucky enough to own one, just "turn the key and start the heart".

The Most Fun You Can Have With Your Clothes On. — I could ramble on for days about why this car is brilliant... but the fact of the matter is you will never settle for a conventional car again.

Incredible handling and agility. Luxurious ride and details that make German cars the golden standard of craftsmanship.

Cons

Gas mileage is good compared to some comparable cars, but it could be better. The rear seating space is limited to five minute rides and briefcases.

A Timeless Sculpture Of A Car That In Impossible Not To Enjoy Driving. — The Porsche 911 Carrera 4 is a forced to be reckoned with. The infamous Porsche 3.4L H6 DOHC 24V FI Engine with 300 naturally aspirated horsepower, paired with the beautiful all wheel drive system make it impossible not to love.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
