12.3 At 114 Miles Per Hour, Pretty Fast For A Ten Year Old Bolt On Car! — I'm pleased to inform all those interested in the 1998-2002 f-body cars, especially the firebird, formula, ws6, and firehawk models my review of one of my favorite roadgoing cars ever built. Lets start with the performance capabilities first. I will skip talking about the 3800 v6 because its not what these cars are known for, it is the 346 c.i. LS1 series motor. Amazing acceleration through every gear, faster than most every car you will meet on the road or strip, even now that my car is 10+ years old, i find few vehicles that can keep up in terms of sheer hp, torque, and 0-100 comes oh so easy, and after 100 these cars will continue to pull smoothly and easily. As a side note, some 6 speed v8 models have dynoed 320 rear wheel hp stock, and with a 3500 lb curb weight, makes the car an easy 12 second car with proper traction enhancements. Braking for a stock vehicle is above average but comes with lots of nose dive from the front end as thats where these cars carry an abundance of weight, they are prone to fade after repeated high speed endeavors. handling again above average but nothing to write home about, just be judicious with the throttle in corners or you'll quickly become a member of the 360 degree club. build quality for the engine and transmission is excellent, but the interior is sorely lacking with easily cracked plastics and easily broken interior parts, window motors, broken seatbelt holders, cracked dash, however the styling of the interior barring cracks makes one feel like they are sitting in a jets cockpit! Exterior styling is what initially attracted me to the f-body cars, but the firebird and trans am models took the cake as the best looking car GM has ever produced and a very noticeable car flying down the road at any speed. Gas mileage with the 6 speed is excellent considering the motor's size and potential, around 20 city and near 30 highway due to the 5 and 6th gear being overdrive, automatics are decent as well if you have a non ws6 model with around 18 city and 27 highway with the 2.73 gears my car previously had, if you opt for the ws6 model you get 3.23 gears. maintenance is very good, as with most any car, if you take care of it your vehicle will return the favor. it gets expensive for me because I run only high quality synthetics in my car from the engine back, other than that since these cars are not in production, repair parts can get moderately expensive. Overall, I am very pleased in my ownership of my 2000 Trans Am, it is fast, looks amazing, and has gotten me many looks from others, both good and bad! Just watch out if you bought the car for the same reason I did, when the mod bug hits, the car responds excellent to any money you throw into it, and you won't wanna stop!!! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Wouldn't Trade It For Anything - I Love This Car! — I have the WS6 convertible version of this car and I couldn't ask for anything better. It runs like a scalded cat and gets LOTS of compliments. The cost to drive is surprisingly low with such good gas mileage. One of the few cars I've never had a problem with and I'm hitting close to 100k miles with it. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Bad Ass — i removed the back seats for weight reduction so i actually have lots of cargo capacity now if i really wanted to fill it up. it is a manual and v-8 so of course it's fun to drive. it has kooks long tube headers, cats removed, and true dual exhaust (dumps before the axle. aftermarket airbox lid, little bit of programming changes for performance, and aftermarket cross member to make room for exhaust. i actually have had a lot fewer problems than my wife has with her Infiniti G35. handling is muscle car quality but i haven't put any aftermarket stuff on it so it isn't really at its peak. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

2000 Pontiac Trans Am Ws6 Auto — wouldn't have ever sold it if i was not going to buy a house. It was a great car, shook the ground and would smoke the 2010 zo6's on the freeway. Freaky fast on the top end the way it was built. quite reliable, i used as my dd and got 25mpg Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Its My Car Of Choice (3 Times Running Lol) — The overall apprearance is by far the most amazing of any mid range sports car. The agressive nature of the styling is backed up by the LS1. Granted there are more nicely appointed cars on the market both then and now but few can come close to the total package. The cars are reasonably priced and fun to drive!!!! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

2000 Trans Am — Timeless car. The looks will never tell how old it is. Everything is easy to work on. Very fun to drive. Gets 20mpg on the highway. Has 400rwhp. The 6 speed transmission adds to the fun factor that normal cars do not give. Primary Use: Family transportation |
