The LX was the base model of the 2000 Mazda 626, but it came well-equipped, with power windows and doors, air conditioning, and a CD player. The engine is a 2.0-liter, 130 horsepower four cylinder. Fuel economy is about 22/28 mpg.
2000 Mazda 626 LX owners seem to either love or hate their cars. Those who love them say they are fun to drive, are very reliable, and are comfortable. Those who hate them have had numerous mechanical problems, most notably with the automatic transmission.

Drivers have mixed feelings about the 2000 Mazda 626 LX V6. Most are satisfied with the car, but there seem to be enough little problems, like faulty door locks, to keep anyone from truly loving it. Owners are still having problems with the automatic transmission, which shifts roughly and often fails.

The ES is well-equipped, coming standard with power windows and doors, leather seats, and a CD player.
There are very few 2000 626 ES owners who are ambivalent about their cars. The car's fans speak very highly of it, citing its affordability, comfort, and stylish appearance in and out as their favorite features. However, some drivers have had serious problems with the automatic transmission, requiring multiple replacements.

For the most part, drivers are happy with their 2000 Mazda 626 ESs. Some drivers have had problems with the automatic transmission and the brakes. All say they like the car's good looks inside and out, powerful engine, and good handling.
