Got It Handed Down As The 4runner Was Retired From My Family's Service. — Everything was SOLID and I would have given it straight 5 stars were it not for 2 things. Transmission problems plagued me for MONTHS with no resolution. I blew out some speakers, even though my music wasn't that loud.

Sexy Beast — so versatile and the best most reliable 4 wheel drive available. It has gotten me through soo much snow and mud and weather with the utmost confidence. And it's just awesome looking. But also space for cargo like skis, bikes, luggage. and of course people!

Jeep — has great acceleration and handeling, but it is gonna need a radiatior soon. and the car is a blast to drive. the cost to own is great because it is a v6 and only has 160,000 miles on it. i like the look of mine then the other one older then mine. it has the power i want and it has the horsepower i want to. A Fun Suv That Will Tow Well And Has Good Road Manners. — Love this Jeep. With the 4.7 V8 it is spirited to drive. Tows the sled trailer with ease too. Selectrac 4 wheel drive is good for anything you can throw at it. Will do 20mpg on the open road which is not too awful for a V8 four wheel drive. Peppy and smooth. I upgraded the TCM to the 545RFE unit and now have a 5 speed auto instead of the 4 speed. Easy to do. Check into it. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Do Not Buy This Vehicle, Unless You Want To Dig Really Deep Into Your Pockets — First experienced mishap with the Jeep, was the rear tailgate latch stopped working. The second was the radiator hose burst on me while travelling, shortly after this repaired, the Air Conditioner compressor unit had to be replaced and then the A/C relay unit went shortly thereafter.. Needed a complete brake job, where they also had to replace the bearings in the rear end from premature wear.. After getting all this fix, within the first 7 months of owning this leased vehicle, the transmission decided to start slipping in every range, then reverse gear stopped working all together.. the lease company decided they would extend the power train warranty due to the fact that I had been going in there repeatedly telling them something was wrong with the transmission.. while the transmission was removed from the vehicle and in the process of being replaced, they found more problems with this Jeep... the rear stabilizer bar and bushings were completely worn out.. then of course it needed new tires... this all being required to be done in the first year I have been the lease holder of this money pit of a vehicle.. Would Love To Find A Cheap One Just To Have — Great for towing and just driving with great winter handeling. Had a very functional stereo with almost zero space lost. I would by one again. The power was way more than i ever expected and held resale value very well. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) |
