ProsReliable, looks great. Surprisingly, I find the dealer is reasonable for certain repairs but I always check first, others are greatly out of line. Conscrappy speakers, electrical problem with lights.

Hi Ho Silver — I bought my Jeep used in 2003 and have been very happy with overall. An electrical problem with tail light, and crappy speakers but performs well. I follow a maintenance schedule and have had no major problems. My sister has the exact same jeep and has had several items replaced. I think a lot has to do with how the jeep is maintained and driven. I spend a lot of time on highway so it doesn't seem as hard on the vehicle. Owner for 3 years, 9 months Miles Driven per Year:25,000

ProsGreat in all conditions. Never quits on you. ConsBit of a gas guzzler.

Great Buy — This was a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo with 4x4. It had the 4.0L I6 with a cold air intake, throttle body spacer, oversize tires, 2" lift, brush guard, roof rack, off road lighting, halo projector headlights, in dash dvd player, after market speakers, and heated leather. The 4x4 was superb. Rarely gets stuck and the motor will outlast the vehicle for sure. These things are unstoppable. Primary Use: Family transportation

Prostons of power, great looks and ride, sounds good. ConsIt's a Jeep, some don't like the looks

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4.7l — This car is simply amazing. The monstrous V8 puts out a good amount of torque and horsepower, as well as the quadra-drive is very effective. The gas millage is not the best (14.6mpg for me, but I drive aggressively), but is effective. There are no problems with the car unless you are aggressive, then your transmission could be at risk. All in all a great car for anyone.

ProsQuality Jeep product I'd reccomend for anyone. ConsPlastic bumpers are kind of troublesome.

Wj Grand Cherokee, Last Jeep Wagon With Solid Axles And The Legendary 4.0 I6 — Performance is great, the Legendary 4.0 is just an amazing engine. very reliable, and torquey, plenty of power, and reasonable gas mileage. The interior is extremely high quality for a Chrysler product. I've never had much trouble with Jeep interiors, but this one takes the 1st prize. The ride quality is also very smooth. For a solid axle Jeep 4x4, it rides very nice. It actually rides a lot smoother than my buddy's 4x4 Liberty with IFS. I think it's one of the best looking Grand Cherokees, the only thing I don't like visually is how low the gas tank hangs, to accommodate the spare being under the rear floorboard. Like I said, reasonable mileage, I can get 22 or so on the highway, and up to 18 on the streets, though I usually don't. It's a blast off road, the full time 4wd option makes it great in foul weather, it's an awesome Jeep I definitely recommend it over any other mid-size SUV in it's class. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsComfortable, Reliable, Smoot Handling, Off-Road rep stands strong. ConsBad gas mileage, weak engine, SUV handling, lots of cheap plastics used in interior

First Car...first Love — I love this car to pieces. The seats are the most comfortable things ever. Jeep builds a very mechanically sound car. The only downside is that it has a lot of plastics and cheap materials in it...but the sound system is amazing! Power is weak. It only a 195 HP, but it delivers when necessary, but forget about racing the sucker. The one thing I hate the most about it is the gas mileage. My car averages 15mpg... On a side note, the 4WD system really works. It's not nearly as advanced as modern systems are, but I have a hard time getting the thing to kick out in snow or dirt. Damn can this thing off road as well!! The only reason I would get rid of my car is for something with better mpg's, but otherwise I would buy myself a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland is gas wasn't an issue.

ProsHeavy-duty build on most drivetrain and mechanicals ConsRepeated premature brake failures, bad calipers, interior trim poorly built, makes lots of noise.

Good Overall Car, Especially For The Money. — Great vehicle with good styling and durable construction. Build quality (particularly the interior trim) leaves something the be desired in terms of durability, but this Jeep is nearly indestructable in terms of drivetrain and mechanicals and will drive on after some of the most punishing conditions or partial failures. An excellent workhorse and dependable vehicle. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prospowerful, roomy, 4wd is nice, good offroad skills Consgas mileage in the city

Jeep Grand Cherokee — this truck is pretty nice. plenty of power and the handling isnt bad for a truck i am very comfortable with the interior. it has everything i need. the plastic bumpers kinda suck because they are faded and ashy looking. gas mileage is better than the epa estimate of 21 highway. more like 23 highway. but the city really kills it so i get like 17 overall Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosgood interior, safe, powerful, relatively good handling, touchy gas pedal. Consbarely any steering feel, very soft brakes, and touchy gas pedal.

It Is Smooth, and Safty It Also Has Luxury, Utility, and Power. — This car is reliable, powerful, safe, relatively good handling, good utility, and somewhat good fuel economy. This jeep with the 4.0L I6 is very smooth very responsive and has respectable power, even better on the freway. The body roll doesn't inspire fast cornering but is capiable of fast cornering, the steering doesn't have much feel and is light at low speeds, but nicely weighted at higher speeds. Primary Use: Family transportation

Prosroomy, gets me from point a to be Consgas mileage, ac isn't that great

Wheeling In Luxury — my jeep is an ok jeep. not the best in the world but ok. breaks are heavy, steering is heavy but thats because of the solid front axle. acceleration sucks because of the inline six. good torque but not enough horsepower. the build quality is ok. its a solid car but occasionaly there is a squeek coming from the front end if i'm making a hard turn and hit a pretty significant bump but it sounds like the steering linkages are binding. other than that no sounds or anything. gas mileage isn't that great i get about 15 to 16 average between highway and intown and with a 18 gallon tank that means i have to fill up once ever 4 or 5 days and its usually about 60 bucks with it somewhere between 1/4 and empty. |
