2000 Honda Civic Value Package Review
ProsDurable, good performance, availabity of parts, fuel economy. ConsNot good for tall people, should have more standard features, looks should be improved, price is high for this car, no tachometer.

Good, But Not Enough — Honda Civic, a vehicle that has been constructed since the Oil Crisis of 1973, has evolved drastically in both size and equipment. The first Civic was a relatively "small" vehicle, with few or no creature comforts like a/c, radio, and many others. Over the years, this car has grown in size and in amenities. Today, this car is perhaps one of the best-selling nameplates due to it's fuel economy, power and features. However, this review will be based on the Honda Civic 2000. This car, owned by my dad, has been in service for eight years and in those eight years, it has proven to be extremely reliable. Thanks to its engine, providing 106HP with a displacement of about 1.6L, this car has a relatively good acceleration, but should be stronger and have a little bit of torque. The dashboard is dominated by a 140-mph speedometer with the fuel and tempearutre gauges on the sides, but it should be equipped with a tachometer. The seats are very comfortable, yet this car is small for a person as tall as I am, so I had to move the seat backwards, thus compromising the already-small space of the back seat. The cupholders are enormous and the dash is designed so that a "king size" bottle can fit perfectly and that's a good point. The space in the trunk is relaitvely small, with no domelight to illuminate it at night, but the seats fold 60/40 so that more cargo can be loaded with at least 3 passengers. Overall, this is a very safe car, with ABS and driver-passenger airbags and a durable body. If I was to re-design this car, I would give it a bigger engine, longer dimensions, and a standard tachometer and I would reduce the price of this vehicle since $23,000 is a lot of money for this car. It should also have many more features standard.

2000 Honda Civic EX Coupe Review
ProsFuel economy great. Handles great. Honda reliable. ConsParts EXPENSIVE!

Old Standby — My wife and I have owned this car for years. Unlike American cars, this decade+ old car has a perfect interior. No broken vents, door handles, etc. At 35 mpg, it is a dream to drive. Just wish we'd have bought it in a 5 speed, not the auto! Recently, the cat. went bad. Found out the EX model cannot use a universal fit, but requires a factory replacement (i.e. $580). 2000 Honda Civic LX Review
ProsGreat fuel economy, 32 city, 37 highway. extremely reliable car. great engine sound for such a small car. good looks even for an aging car. value is probably the best thing about this car, and every Honda product. ConsA pretty weak 4-cylinder. 106 hp that feels like 90 hp when the A/Cs in full power. headroom and space could be a problem for larger people. It doesn't offer much as far as accessories go.

Fuel Efficient And Always Reliable. — The 2000 Honda Civic LX is a very solid car. It offers great value and reliability even in its older age. The appearance is attractive and still contemporary, appealing to the younger generation of folks. With it's popular 4 cylinder engine, this Civic model puts out 106 horse at 6200 rpm and 103 ft. lbs. of torque at 4500 rpm. This is a weak car for anyone that drives to actually get somewhere. In other words, it is great for light-footed women and your grandma's Sunday drive to church. For me, fuel efficiency has been a huge factor and it's the only way I can tolerate driving it. I would love me some more power, but I must say the acceleration has a quick response and the engine noise to go with can make your friends jump. Interior noise gains a lot from the engine, but from a teenager's mind it hits the spot. A very popular car to rebuild and customize, which I would recommend. Don't hesitate on this Honda. Great Overall Car — One of the best selling car models of all time. Can't beat the value and gas mileage. Performance is poor, but the quality out weighs that factor. The car is fun to drive since it almost feels like a go kart ahah Primary Use: Commuting to work

Lookign For A 10k < Sporty Car? Look No Further. The 99-00 Civic Si/sir Is Still A Top Preformer. — Preformance: Pretty peppy, decent stop and go acceleration. step on it to its 8700RPM redline and you'll be smiling all the way home. Its sporty breaks with 4 wheel disk's were ahead of its time for the price. and its got front and rear sway bars, giving it go-kart like attributes. Build quality: mines nine years old with only one little squeak. i have done only maintnance repairs to this car. Appearance: for a nine year old car. i think it still looks great, with optional front and rear lips. Cost of ownership: very cheap on gas, i average 33MPG, as well as belts that i replaced, in total about 400 dollars.Allthough insurance is a little up top. Fun factor: the car is VERY fun to drive, its very spirited and quick, allthough refined and comfortable. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Buy One. — I loved this car. I would deffinetly get another one. I highly recommend this car to EVERYONE. The gas mileage was amazing. It was rediculously fun to drive. So much could be done to this car to make it into something special, many aftermarket performance/cosmetic parts. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Great First Car — Love Suspension. Hate 4th Gear..... the engine is really good but underpowerd compared to todays caqrs. the breaks are good and cornering is great i can pull off a regular left turn at 45-50MPH in my lane. when 4th gear kickes in the car gets really slow so i keep it on D3....cars top speed is about 135MPH...only says 120 on the dash Primary Use: Commuting to work |
