ProsDependable + Best resale value ConsCan be Expensive vs. Toyotas

A Solid Choice. Especially If You Are A Parent. — Good car for families, TON of space. Too slow for me. Not very maneuverable. Ridiculously dependable. Will take whatever you throw at it and keep going. Easy to find parts for. Vtec is freaking sweet but 2.3L is too small for 2 tons of car. Overall fantastic car, I hate to dog on it so much because it really is fantastic its just not really for me. Primary Use: Commuting to work

2000 Honda Accord EX Review
ProsRoomy, comfortable, hauls ass, great on gas ConsWhile still very reliable, large number of recalls suggest it's not up to the typical Honda standards

Prime Example Of What A Family Sedan Should Be — While I listed that I "drove" this car I've actually had a good deal of experience with it as it was mom's car and I had plenty of access to it up until I moved away. First, in terms of performance, while my Civic is quicker to stop and more manueverable the Accord balances these out with much better speed with having around 60 more horsepower, giving it a proportionately larger boost in power than size and weight. There have been times where after driving my car for a while I'd drive the Accord and not be watching the speedometer close enough and find myself at 80-85 at the point I would've been finally reaching 65 on my old Civic. The quality I had to rate it a notch below "Solid" because while it is still a very reliable car I've lost track of the number of recalls it's had. If you're looking to buy this year Accord I can't stress enough that you should reserach the recalls and make sure they're fixed before purchasing a 2000 Accord. Once they've been fixed you have absolutely nothing to worry about though, unless the car's been horribly abused in which case no badly abused car is a good buy anyway. For appearance, "Gorgeous" is not good enough. The family car was silver, and when parked next to far more expensive cars I can honestly say I still though the Accord looked nicer. In my opinion it's a family car with more visual appeal than most luxury or sports cars. Once again, "Love it" was not good enough for an impression. It's the roomiest and most comfortable mid-sized car I've been in, it has a very efficient engine that pumps out some nice speed an acceleration without pumping too much gas into the engine, and while you certainly can't weld the hood shut and drive it the rest of your life like Honda's commercial claimed it's still a very reliable car. For newer cars I may be most impressed with Saturn's showing, but for it's generation I'm willing to bet there was no better midsized car built than the Honda Accord.

2000 Honda Accord EX Coupe Review
ProsComfortable seats, great performance for a four cylinder. Rides smooth (at least when the alignment is straight). Plenty of trunk space. Awesome all around car. ConsSometimes there is axil hop when going into first gear. Short people may have trouble getting enough view out of the front windshield and not having their legs against the steering wheel. The moonroof sometimes gets stuck, not because it's broken (if it was, I would've fixed it by now) but because there's a piece that's necessary that gets in the way, so someone has to find it and push it back in. Not a big deal, but it can distract from driving.

This Car Is My Baby, And Pretty Much Always Will Be : ) — Extremely reliable car. Great gas mileage (easily 30 mpg, well over that on freeway trips, man it just keeps going and going...). Honda did an excellent job in designing the rear differently from the four-door, and the double wishbone suspension in the front is definitely a plus and makes the ride that much better. Styling on the outside is simple but graceful, and the interior is adequate but still satisfying. I'll always be grateful for the moonroof. Handling is peppy, as well as the engine. Overall, give this car a little bit of TLC and it'll go a loooonnng way.

10 Years Old And Still Running. — Great car to own, whether you're a first time driver or just looking for a reliable vehicle. Can take a beating and performs so well it's scary lol. Fun car to drive - even though it's a automatic - and fits plenty of people. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosfun, looks good Consauto tranny prone to fail

Good Car — For being a honda this car is incredibly peppy. The v6 roars under vtec with the addition of an intake and sounds amazing. Only thing is that th e4cyl accord should have came with an H22 and the v6 should have came in a 6speed. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

2000 Honda Accord Special Edition — Great car. Clean styling that still doesn't look dated. Great handing and more than adequate performance and gas milage from the Vtec 4cyl. engine. Comfortable ride and room enough for 5 passengers. The SE model has EX extras and exclusive SE rims. Primary Use: Family transportation

Would Buy It All Over Again — Best car I have owned so far. Most expensive fix I have had to make in almost a decade was for brakes/tires, which is pretty much general maintenance. I recommend going for the V6 -- the four cylinder is decent, but I wouldn't get that again. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
