Pros

Quick, Pleasant to drive, Quiet, Decent Stereo

Cons

Iffy gas mileage made up for by a big tank, Poor turning radius

2000 Windstar — Performance - Decent, for a minivan. 200hp, 250lb'ft of torque haul this 4500lb monster to 100km/h in about seconds, topping out a ways down the road at nearly 200km/h. DO NOT ATTEMPT, van shakes, vibrates, wanders, and smells of burning transmission fluid! Handles decently, but tires protest loudly if pushed. Surprisingly nimble, despite large turning radius. Comfortable for long drives. Build Quality - Ford, learn to build a goddamn decent transmission. Appearance - It's a Van. It doesn't look terrible, and is rather smooth, as far as aerodynamics go. Cost of ownership - base is around $28 000. If you got one with a bad transmission... MINIMUM $1600 in repairs. Watch out for rust along the bottoms of the doors and in the back of the body, in front of the rear wheels. Fun Factor - Winter. Big open parking lots. Hand Brake. Nuff said. Also, upon experimentation, My 'star will SMOKE a cavalier and civic at a stop light grand prix :3 Space - LOTS, Very roomy, 2nd and 3rd rows removable, can tote a ton of kit.

Pros

For my job its perfect

Cons

uneasy feeling on sharp corners

Its A Ford It Has To Be Good — I love the comfort while driving and I really like the room. The outside is good to look at and still have a business look The handling is great for a big vehicle, cost of maintenance is a little high, but affordable. Fairly good gas mileage.

2000 Ford Windstar — powerful v6, heavy braking like all vans being 10 yrs old with lots of travelling on it it needed a new engine after about 110, but nothing else major never any squeeks or rattles typical consevative van appearence inside and out not great gas milege...not bad for a v6 but newer vaqns are better not fun to drive at all

Pros

Easy to get them for cheap, nice drive

Cons

the transmissions ford puts in them!

Good Cheap Van — Better acceleration that the earlier years for these vans. You'll most likely have to replace the transmission around 80,000 miles. The sliding doors are a nice touch, but always stopped working during the winter for me. Better to just leave them off. Windows in back were tinted black, which is nice, plus looks good. You can add an awesome sound system in these vans. Fun to drive, but nothing that special about them.

Pros

power sliding doors very convenient, acceleration, very comfortable ride

Cons

transmission replaced twice

2000 Ford Windstar — * Performance - we have the 3.8L version, so the acceleration is great * Build Quality - had to replace the tranny twice (okay, probably the first mechanic's shoddy work) * Appearance - okay... nothing to be excited over * Cost of Ownership - gas mileage not the greatest due to the 3.8L engine, the issue of having the tranny replaced twice really bumped up the TCO! * Fun Factor - is this car fun to drive? Yes! Very spirited driving...

Cons

handling, drivers seat comfort, heavy removeable seats.

Darn Reliable Family And Stuff Hauler — I'm the original owner of a Windstar SEL, and I've had very little to complain about. I has some PITA electrical problems, but this may have been due to an aftermarket video system. Other than that, bubkus, just general wear & tear. Sure it handles like a minivan, but hey.. IT'S A MINIVAN. It seats 7, hauls a ton of stuff, and has pretty good get up and go. The Ford service teams that I've used have been excellent and I'm hoping to buy another Ford soon.

strong, reliable, excellent for moving

Cons

ITS A VAN. the only pick-up line I can use is 'hey baby, I can make you a star in the back of my van.'

Reliable. — This P.O.S. has stuck with me through thick and thin. Several car accidents, three transmission changes, six tires, and various dings and dents. Its a sloppy thing but she'll haul ass through rain and snow. And being a michigander, thats saying something.
