Pros

Never gotten stuck in the vehicle and both 4 wheel high or low and handles in the snow fairly well. its always been a pretty comfortable ride and has handled off-road very well while hunting and doing farm work.

Cons

beings its a short bed and over all a smaller pickup when you hit things like speed bumps and pot holes and such other obstacles, you could really feel when you would hit them.

Loved The Pickup! Just Need Something Bigger. — I've always loved driving it in the winter with the 4x4. I've never gotten stuck and the heater in it has always kept me warm. The coldest I've ever started the vehicle was at -25 degrees and that was last winter when I went to visit a friend in Windsor Colorado. Always been a great running truck and the biggest reason I'm needing to get rid of it, is cause i need a bigger pickup for the work that I do.

Pros

easy to drive, never in the repair shop for anything major- has held up well- no major manufacturer recalls. very reliable. has towed large u-haul trailers when moving furniture for family and friends- has handled all 4 wheel drive situations including deep snow with ease

Cons

very few cons- it is a small truck- not made for more than 2 adults- extended cab fits small children or carries a lot of stuff that you want to keep out of the weather

Well Made Strong And Reliable — this truck has been the most reliable vehicle I have owned- never had any problems with it doing what I asked it to do- commute to work or go camping or moving family and friends' belongings from one house to another. I always felt safe and my kids learned to drive in this truck . In bad weather I insisted that they use the truck and I would drive the front wheel drive vehicle that we owned because I knew the 4 wheel drive would get them home safely

Great Little Truck! If you can't find them in a Junk Yard, they must still be on the Road. NOTE: Mazda B3000 have a majority on all the same spects., and Parts

Cons

Air Conditioning not found in a majority of Rangers  (Need 2x2 Air, Two Windows, for two People LOL).

Good Over All Truck. — Great On, and Off Road, but can not Pull very well, or what Ford says it can Tow. Gas Mileage is Fair, but all 60/40 Drivers Seats Rip (Must be a Factory Flaw). If you do the Normal Maintenance on this Truck, it will be Safe, and Run for many, many years!

Mysterious — Was great when I first got it, but 6 months later, something happened.... idk what... I've been chasing the problem since... have done everything recommended and even had mechanic look at it. tells me he'll have a diagnosis in an hour, then 3.5 hrs later, & 6 mechanics later... they still dont know whats up....

Reliable Truck Transportation — I like that it can haul, pull and do everything I need it to do. I wish it would get closer to 20 mpg highway unloaded. I pull a 12' pop up camper and it pulls it well. I load my cruiser motorcycle weighing just under 700 lbs in the bed and it hauls it very well. I have loaded the bike in the bed while pulling a boat and trailer weighing 3100 lbs from TN to CA. I averaged 11 mpg. For a small pick up, it does exceptionally well. I use it as it was designed to be used....it's a truck.

Small Truck, Big Heart — She was my first truck and vehicle. I will never forget Bubba. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, and some in the middle times. Thanks for everything, you great golden heap of ford truck.

Great Truck!!!!!!!!!! — I have my 2000 ranger xlt stepside 3.0 v6 ford truck now for almost 5 years now......mine is a rare color its called ford atlantic blue aka k7 paint code......its just a stand out in a crowd my little truck.....i love my truck ....its the most reliable vehicle i have ever owned..................mine is also a a stepside supercab....i havent had any major mechanical issues with it at all since i bought this truck.....the only things that have gone wrong is a radiator........a alternater ,a battery, and now i need a new a/c compressor........other than that nothing major, and just matenence stuff.....im a mechanic by trade so its a little easier for me to fix my own truck verses a normal person... so matenence or major machanical is no big deal at least for me......and parts are plentiful and cheap....junk yard are full of old ranger jewels with great parts...that you can get for a fraction of the cost........the looks are still great and still get alot of attention...mines in new like shape.......its fun to drive and comfortable and roomy..at least the super cab is...plenty of room to haul all my stuff......its a pleasure to drive...it runs like a sewing machine.....i have over 130,000 miles on mine........i change the oil every 3000 miles and run lucas oil in the engine.........the factory stereo kikcks ass loud as hell ... i added pioneer speakers and it sounds like a concert hall.....i ll never sell my little ford ranger ..its a part of the family........i will eventually drop a v8 small block ford 302 Ho 5.0 out of a mustang in the near future..............and make it the way ford should of made it......in the first place......engine swap is easy on this truck...lmc truck parts sells a v8 swap kit for the ranger and the headers you need to make a v8 fit.........and cheap for the v8 kit...under 200 hundred bucks........

Fullfills all of your needs, (with 2 smaller seats for the kids and plenty of room for transporting anything) and is fun to drive!

Cons

I used to like fords, but i think the only way it beats a foreign car is on the price tag.

Perfect For Your First Truck! — I love the way this truck drives, although it is a a little slow accelerating, it handles nice and everything works pretty good, only a few problems with the tie rods and ball joints but the engine is amazing. i like the exterior style/color better then the interior. it is fun to drive, but it does eat up the gas pretty good. but it deffinatly beats a full-size pickup there.
