Pros

I was the 2nd owner, bought it in 2000 with 3,000 miles and never had it in the shop for anything major.

Cons

It is 14 years old, it is getting tired and worn out

Everything You Could Hope For In A Car — I absolutely love my car! It has been extremely reliable, the maintenance and repair have been minimal. It is beautiful, comfortable and fun to drive. It will go from 0 to 60 FAST. Excellent handling whether going 45 or 85! Gas mileage is pretty ok too.

Pros

Inside, are healthy doses of comfort with the Monte Carlo, whose cavernous innards were designed specifically to maximize harmony between the car and the driver. Special attention was paid to control placement and seat design, and engineers strove to provide top-notch brake pedal and steering feel. Good visibility, thanks to generous glass areas, a standard rear-window defogger, and large side-view mirrors.

Cons

This should have been a rear wheel drive car. Its front wheel drive significantly affects its handling.

Great Car - But Could Have Been Better — GM designed such a great car - brakes, power and comfort. But they really dropped the ball on handling. The put a great suspension on the car but without being a rear wheel drive platform - it is significantly reduced in what it could have been. Wobbly handling is an issue if you try to drive in an aggressive manner.

Gorgeous — I do not dislike anything about these cars. I also own a 1974 version. They ride nice, look sharp and handle wonderful. My last one was even good in the snow. We have a family of 5 and even being only 2 doors did not affect anything for us. These cars have always been dependable.

Pros

Loved this car, owned it for 12 years. Best maintainence free car I've ever owned....besides normal wear and tear. Traded it in july 2012 with 206K miles on it. Still running strong, but I wanted a 2006/2007 Monte Carlo SS with the LS4 V8.

Cons

Absolutely Nothing!

1 Of The Best Cars I've Ever Owned For An Every Day Driver — Bought the car in Nov 2000, added ground effects in feb 01 and just customized it a little bit here and there. Paid off 2 years early and took it off the road and purchased a 97 Cadillac Eldorado in 2006. Put the Monte back on the road and drove both cars until 2008, when I traded in the Eldorado for a Pontiac GTO. I think the Monte started becoming jealous as she started acting up, with a radiator or a flat tire and then the exhaust (which were the same flowmasters I put on in 2001) She was a good car, but I wanted a 2006 Monte SS and I finally bought 1 in July 2012 and traded this Monte in for the same color.

Great Car!!! — This is a great car if your not looking for a really fast car. It has a great ride, very quiet, yet still can get up and go. These cars are built very well. I have had mine a year and the only money i have put into it is for general maintenance. Both the interior and exterior look great. The interior is very organized and funtional, and the exterior is beautifull. I usually get around 21 MPG in town.

Love It — I love my car.. Can't think of anything they could have done to manufacture it better..May a tougher suspension system? But that's more about how I drive the car is awesome. Wonderful, love it, and all of it's features.

Poor Man's Corvette — Great handling since I dumped the OE tires (Goodyear) and switched to Bridgestones. Bright red with smoked windows.

My Monte — like runs quiet, shifts smooth, comfortable, good body, nice color, plenty of power to get it around and then some, large trunk, good mpg dislike not good on ice, takes forever to get warm, wheel hop, and it is difficult for people to get into the back seat
