The 2000 BMW 528i was powered by a 2.8-liter six-cylinder engine that produced 190 horsepower. A five-speed manual was standard, while a five-speed automatic with the Tiptronic manual shift feature was available as an option. The 2000 BMW 528i was equipped with traction and stability control, as well as four-wheel antilock brakes and 15-inch alloy wheels.
Other standard features for 2000 included power steering, power windows, power door locks, power heated mirrors, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a power tilt and telescopic steering wheel. A dual-zone automatic climate control system, a keyless entry system, cruise control, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and an AM/FM stereo system with a cassette player were also part of the standard package, as were dual front, side and head-protection airbags.
Options included leather seats and a power sunroof.
