Yes — I like the car in general, but it's little slower than I would like. Being my first car I can't really complain. It's pretty good on gas and has a good range considering how hard I drive it. I like the look of the car and color, but I hated the stock wheels so I put 17" MSW Type 11's on it and it really looks good. I've looked up the wheels on the internet to see what other people have done with them and I personally like my application better than on an A3. I put Coninental ProContact rubber on them and can only rave about what they can do for a not-so-powerful car. I have had some issues with reliability. We've replaced the windshield wiper transmission ($1000+), a wheel speed sensor for a little under $100, and the catalytic converter ($800+) but the cat was replaced under warranty. My AC no longer works, but I have yet to fix it. The tranny is pretty good but I wish it was a manual and the engine sound is nice but I wish I had an exhaust to make it that much better. The sound system is pretty good for an entry level car. The interior is not bad for plastic, but the black really heats up the car in the summer. I

1999 Vw Jetta 2.0 Wolfsburg, Best Little Car I've Ever Owned — The performance could be better. Has a couple rattles but thats ok for a 10 year old car. Appearance will be improved. Gas mileage is about 28mpg and I drive it very hard. This car is awesome to drive, I love it! | ||

12 Valves Of Fury! — Good performance but a little loose on the handling. Interior quality leaves a little desired but I'm loving the sound quality of the stock stereo. gas mileage is a lot better than reported especially on the manual transmission, and spare parts are fairly cheap as this generation of the Jetta is still in production in Mexico. | ||

1999 Volkswagen Jetta Gls — Performance - Pretty good performance, could have been a little better. Build Quality - I put this thing in 2 ditches and it still kept going... Tough little car! Appearance - I really liked the way it looked, kinda elegant looking. Cost of Ownership - good on gas, not too many maintenance costs... Fun factor- it was fun to drive. | ||

Volkswagen Jetta Gl 2.0 — Its a solid long lasting car. Unfortunately a little slow, they call it a 2 point slow for a reason. Pretty good on gas, could be a lot better. I got it from some ukie that called himself a dealer. People say that because its foreign its more expensive to fix but thats bull. | ||

Could Have Been Worse, But Not By Much. — Engine in this car still works. however, it's gone through 2 Trannies, (not because of my driving I assure you) these things are just made shotty, the only decent part about the car is engine, everything else breaks. even my cupholder broke. | ||

I Am Writing Because Both My Windows In The Front Have Fallen Off Their Tracks. — One morning i went to go to the store rolled down my window and it fell all the way in the door. Same happend to the otherside a few months later. I have also problems with the entire side of the dricers door panel does not work! Not the gas pop, the trunk pop, or any of the door locks. I love this car and I payed a lot of money for it and it shouldent be falling apart. Owner for 4 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:10,000 |
