1999 Toyota RAV4 4 Door AWD Review
ProsIt is a SUV but small and compact, it is a Toyota so it will last a lifetime ConsNot a lot of Acceleration

Good Car For College Students — The acceleration isn't very much, the breaks work well but they squeak when wet. Overall though it is a good car for being 10 years old. Some people can't believe it works so well for being 10 years old. It has only been repaired once since I have had it and that was just to put new back breaks in. It is only like 20 dollars to fill it up and that lasts me about a week and a half. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosreliability Consspace

Rav4-99 — It has nice function to help with power, however not extremely powerful. the only downside is the amount of passenger space in the back seat. Severe engine repair could be a hassle, but it rarely has reason to need such heavy repair. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsGreat fuel economy; size is perfect for my needs and i love the added height :) Consno heated massaging seats here but it reliably gets me where i need to go

Peppy La Su — my only complaint is that it's noisy on the highway... as i'm not on the highway very often, i can happily live with it (and just crank the music a notch). i also find that it steams up in winter and sometimes hard to see the side views. i love my Rav4! Toyota Rav4 Heat — My second car, was really nippy and handled well on the road. Still got the car after 10yrs and is still in good condition. Performance and maintaince is fair not too costly but wanted a car with more power behind it. Primary Use: Commuting to work

One Of The 1st Cross Over Small Suv — One of the first cross over small SUV at that time and one of the best small SUV in the market at that time. Solid performance...great handling and stability compare to traditional SUVs, not too poweful but runs good, and fulltime AWD performs great. And always great fuel economy.

ProsCompact, tough little truck, dependable (so far) ConsUnderpowered, totally crappy, unacceptable garbage rims that aren't fit for a wheelbarrow

All Year Ride — Great little rig. Underpowered and a little noisey, but dependable & good all around vision. The rims are awful. I've had 4 crack. Toyota refuses to do anything. The Dept. of Transport are afraid of Toyota. In my opinion a major safety hazard & terrible design flaw. Toyota rides on their " we can do no wrong reputation? If you plan to buy one, go get aftermarket rims like I had to do after buying two Toyota replacements. |
