Prossporty look on a luxury vehicle Consneeds a few more horses under the hood

All Around Great Car Like Any Toyota, But Nothing Amazing. — A weak 6, but it is a V-6 wich is always better than a 4. some of the dash panels get sun bleached and then start peeling up a bit. Air/Fuel mixture sensor went bad after 110, 000 miles about a 200 dollar part can install yourself. Other than that no unscheduled maintenance. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Glad I Only Got It For 1500 — Great acceleration, with the 20 inch rims handles like a smaller car on tight corners. Has abs stops very well. getting an upgraded interior package the SLE gold edition. Has a very nice stock radio system one of the best I have heard for complete stock no amp or subs. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Prosreliability

Toyota Quality — reliable, safe, sporty, quick and reliable.. did I say reliable? Not a performance car... instant braking. Fun car to drive but definitely a chick's car. Husband won't drive it! Car is 11 years old and as reliable as it was the day I brought it home in 1999. Sold the car 11 years to the day after I bought it. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsIt's a Toyota. ConsNone

Get It, It's Sweet. — Performance: Decent acceleration, good braking, and responsive handling for a non-sports car, steering is also responsive. Build Quality: it needed work on the front end, but that was because of the previous owner, the suspension works well now, it squeeks when the doors are opened, might be sagging from old age Appearance: leather on seats is wearing and it shows, the hood and front bumper are scratched(previous owner), the styling still looks good, even if it's 10 years old Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsGreat quality Cons2.2L engine has not much power

Best Car I Have Ever Owned. — The best car I have ever owned. It seems like a luxury car, VERY quiet and smooth driving. It does everything very well, and gets great gas mileage, in a mid size car. I love it and plan to keep it for a LONG time. The 2.2L engine could use a little more power, but I have learned to adapt. (My previous car was a V-8 Mustang GT.) Primary Use: Commuting to work

Awesome! — This car is awesome, it is soo much fun to drive! V6 has soo much power and accelerates quickly. 5sp is awesome and easy to shift! Love the deep black color and sleek look of the car! Awesome stereo with JBL speakers and built in amp, sounds amazing!

ProsEverythinge except for reliability ConsVery costly to repair and find parts, could use stiffer and longer lasting tires and shocks, could use a turbo.

Sexy Solara — I absolutely love this car. The car performs better then most vehicles on the road due to powerful acceleration and high end torque and horsepower. Brakes are quite soft, therefore more time must be given while braking at higher speeds. The car handles beautifully, soft and smoothly. TOO DAMN LAZY TO WRITE MORE LOL

99 Toyota Solara Se Coupe — Awesome car. Sports car feel. Fast acceleration for a 4 cyl. Roomy and comfortable interior. Car screams quality. My fuel economy is better than stated on mpg sites. Hasn't needed any major repairs at 70k. I get compliments galore. I have owned this car for almost ten years and don't think I'll ever sell it. Cheap to own. It's a keeper. I love my car!

ProsIt's a Toyota (build quality, ride quality, and relability), leather, stick, sunroof, JBL speaker system, V6 (acceleration) ConsIt's a Toyota (not that fun to drive, and bland exterior styling), and V6 (gas mileage)
45
My First Car — Performance - strong acceleration, smooth engine pulls especially strong at high rpms. 4 wheel disc brakes provide excellent stopping power. handling is ok, suspension provides a good compromise between comfort and handling. I wish there was a little less body lean though. huge turning radius. Build Quality - no squeaks or rattles. car is well insulated and is extremely quiet when windows are up and sunroof is closed. all electronics work perfectly. spare tire improperly secured in trunk. one of the rear cup holders broke. small hole in passenger seat. clutch throw out bearing died 97,670. no doubt the previous driver rode the clutch. Appearance - distinctive, but conservative (read: bland) exterior. beautiful tan interior. supple leather. tasteful faux wood trim. Cost of Ownership - decent gas mileage, mid 20s. 18.5 gallon tank makes me cry every time i fill up, but gets 400+ miles per tank. Fun Factor - Not the sportiest car in the world. Car feels heavy through turns. 5 speed manual is smooth but isn't as precise as mazdas. Extremely comfortable car to cruise around in, windows down, sunroof open, 200watt jbl speaker system blasting. Also very quiet at highway speeds. Can drive at 100+ with little wind or road noise. Overall - It's a very refined car, more suited for the older driver. Younger buyers would be better off with a compact, which are definitely more fun to drive, especially on backroads.

Best Car I've Ever Owned — This car... It's built like a tank. Dependable (NEVER broke down or stalled on me ONCE), a big plus considering my last car was bought brand new and brought/towed to the dealership MANY times, and my first car was just a random clunker just so I didn't have to take the bus. |
