Don't Need One — This is a Toyota 4Runner. Always has been a great vehicle from the Toyota line. The auto tranny shifts very smooth and so far no major mechanical problems at all. Regular maintenance and small items expected to go wrong. Overall, a fun vehicle and a good strong engine. I wish it were 4-wheel drive, but still a great car/truck.

Pros

Dependable, comfortable, powerful and roomy - looks sharp

Cons

Not as good mpg as my Camry, but not bad for an SUV, I average around 22-24 mpg.

Great Vehicle — I'm a Toyota guy. I've owned lots of makes and models of cars, but nothing has been as reliable as my Toyotas. The 4Runner is no exception. It has over 150,000 miles and still performs like a new one. It's a great vehicle.

Great comuter. Incredibly easy to drive. Relatively stylish, and good looking.

Cons

Limited is only available with an automatic transmission (which makes sense, I suppose, but I prefer standard). Power delivery can be a little rough at times.

A Great Comuter, Or A Fun Recreational Vehicle — I love driving this car. It's great for getting around town, or getting off of the roads. It's fuel economy / tank size are well balanced to give a decent range ( ~350 miles), and is very comfortable for family use And lastly, it being a Toyota, you never really have to worry about reliabilty issues. The one I drive on a regualr basis just kicked over 225000 miles, and it's still going like it's only got 25000.

great on gas and very reliable

Cons

not much head room

1999 Toyota 4runner 4wd Limited — This is a very reliable family vehicle. Gas mileage is good considering it is an older SUV. Runs well but has some squeaks and rattles from being an older vehicle. Have not taken it off road yet bit I want to. Lots of leg room but not so much in the head room area.

Most Fun On Trails And Off-road. — The 4Runner has been a blast to drive off-road and on trails around the countryside. The are comfortable on short trips but get harder the longer you drive. Fuel economy is around 17 MPG on the whole, which isn't up to par with newer vehicles. With all that said, I still use it as my daily driver and would hate to part with it because it's such a versatile vehicle!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

I've Loved It For Years — This rig has been great for anything from hauling family on trips, to hauling my foosball tables around for tournaments with or without a trailer. Even though she's got a lot more miles left in her, it's time for me to update to a newer one.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Good To Go!! — Great deal for my funds. I bought it from a great friend, and he rebuilt it professsionaly. Hasn't missed a lick. Thermostat may be going out soon (got one for $10, with gasket), and sensor for back window are my only current issues. I love it !!

Great Vehicle — Great vehicle. Mine is still running strong at 150k miles. It will be hard to part with when that day comes. I like having 4WD but don't want a giant SUV. My favorite feature is the electric rear window for my dog.

Rear Diff. lock for 4-wheelin

Cons

Gas mileage and needs more power

25

4runner For A Runner — Needs more power! TRD Supercharger will be the first upgrade. Works great off road, with factory rear diff. lock and higher than average ground clearance. Of course it is much more fun to drive off-road! Gas mileage is OK for an SUV. Can't beat the build quality - it's built in Japan at the same plant they make the Landcruiser / LX.
