1999 Nissan Pathfinder 4 Dr SE 4WD SUV Review
ProsSmooth ride, comfortable interior, decent cargo capacity, big tires and four wheel drive for those off-road times. ConsGas mileage. 12 mpg in city driving.

My Second Pathfinder — My first Pathfinder was a '95, which I ran for ten years before the frame rusted out. Its replacement, a '99 early model, is much more car-like, albiet a large, heavy car. It is strong and well built, with no frame to rust. After a year and a half with the '99, and all maintenance completed, I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle cross country.

Awesome — Really reliable and maintainable car. It runs smoothly and has a really good engine with no damages. Its one of my most reliable cars. If I'm ever stuch somewhere this is the car i can trust on most. I have to sell it in order to pay off my insurance for a bmw i have but overall this is a 5 out of 5 stars car. ProsAll weel drive. Great Ride height. ConsHigh rollover risk (cant say i have.) So-so gas milege.

Cargo, Off Road, People Room. — The engine is well powered for the car, with nice gears and a short final drive (4.35?) to compensate for the weight. The fit an finish of the interior is superb. No part of the car has failed on me. 150000 miles, no chronic problems, save for a mysterious vibration i cant seem to locate. The ride is comfortable, and the suspension take bumps and dings very well. Speed bumps and tables are no match for struts on all wheels. I hit a speed table, got a foot of air, and still didnt bottom out the suspension. Ride height is great. Body leans on tight turns, but its not a sports car. Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Prosinterior Conshighway speed hills (mountain passes)

'99 Pathfinder, 4wd Le — I very much enjoyed my pathfinder. Nice interior, a little cramped in the back (but I didn't sit there), nice stereo (not compatable w/ ipod/iphone). At slow speeds, it worked really well on hills, however, it was a gutless wondering at highway speeds going over passes. If you're a flat-lander or will be in town w/ no significant climbs, a very nice vehicle. If highway passes, skiing, etc... consider something with a bit more guts than a 3.0L v6. ProsVery Veristile ConsN/A

Great Buy — I love how it drives, it may be an SUV but it feels light like a car. The gas milage is ok, not to great but its not horrible. Pathfinders are built like tanks, my pathfinder has taken so much abuse and just smiled at me. Its very capable offroad, seems to float over mud. I expected a jeep wrangler to outperform but it needed a tow from the pathy. I plan on buying another pathfinder. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

I'll Be Loving My Pathfinder For A Long Time. By Bill1423
