This Is Not My Father's Mercury! — Excellent reliability, 25 mpg hwy; 21 mpg town; good handling, best ride compared to any Honda, Toyota I've ridden in. Exceptional bang for the buck! Only downside so far is traction in snow. Definitely going to be my next car.

Large, comfortable cruiser, good mileage

Tough to park, no rear seat pass through, could use more power.

I Love My Car — I love my Grand Marquis. It's king of the open road and returns 23mpg driving at 70+ mph. Not bad for a 2.5 ton vehicle. It doesn't move the fastest, and I don't park in tight spots, but it never lets me down. I've turned 130,000 miles and the car just keeps going. All I have to do is change oil. There are maintenance items that need attention at high miles, but they are all simple items like fluid changes and such. I'm sure the styling would turn off most people, but I just can't get enough of it. The lines are classic and I enjoy the view over the long hood. The interior has room, but I wouldn't mind a fold down rear seat for carrying longer items. My car isn't perfect, but I love it the same. I'm already thinking about getting another one to replace it someday.

Merc — This car burns out. It comes equipped with a 281 cubic inch 4.6 litre SOHC V8 that delivers more than ample horsepower and torque. For such a large car, my Grand Marquis handles like a dream and gets great fuel mileage (22-25 avg). Other than routine maintenance, I have had to invest very little in repairs. This is a fun car to drive because it is roomy, powerful, comfortable, and has a very nice ride.
