Pros

Reliable 100% If you follow the maintenance guide.

Cons

Acceleration Noise

A Future Classic. — I bought this car in 2004, and I havent had any problems with it. It runs smooth and quiet on highways, however is bit noisy on the streets when you accelerate. The car is fun to drive, still has the Mercedes Benz feeling " Classic, Elegant" Can be expensive to keep it like brand new; however, if you have one of these babys, you will invest your money worthly. I love this Benz, the only I wish is that Mercedes in the future creates adaptors for ipods and navigation systems.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Smooth, high quality Benz at low-end luxury price.

Cons

Eventual repairs/parts (if needed),

Great Car. — Impressive performance for the money; acceleration was good. Although, more power on hand before the supercharger kicked in would've been nice. Superior built quality. Mercedes-Benz without issues experienced by later MB's due to the ghastly merger with Chrysler. Beautiful, "restrained but classy" exterior design. Interior deign absolutely beautiful for its price. Should have come standard with electronically adjustable front passenger seat! No maintenance issues at all. The drive was classic Mercedes-Benz; nice, heavy, smooth, gliding ride quality.

Pros

it is fun to drive and it gets good gas mileage for me and probably for you

Cons

nothing bad at all

35

Buy It If You Can Find It — Preformance: 0-60 in 5.2 sec, braking is great for high speeds and slow speeds, it gets a turning circle of 35.2 ft. This car is garage kept and has never needed any repairs/work done (except for its oil change and government checkup/emmisions test. The exterior is outdated but the black interior is great with the AMG logo on the headrest. The U.S. government says it gets 16/21 miles per gallon, but for me it gets 19/26, thats the same as the new hybrid S400. I mean my 4.3 liter V8 gets the same mileage as the weak S400, Come on Diamler this car is fun to drive because it has amazing acceleration and a top speed (I tested it) of 172 mph and my kids love it.

Cons

Some "people" don't like Mercedes.

Won't Sell!!! — (WAGON)Kompressor engine, 200hp, handles very nice. In 12 years no repairs were needed, except for usual maintenance and service. Build quality is exceptionally good, so any part replacement or upgrades are really easy to install. As about styling, it is by far the best base to build a Driftwagon, both visually and by performance. LPG installed. Fun factor... Well it'd be a lot more fun with limited slip diff installed. Oh well...

Is fast for being a four door heavy car!

Cons

Wish that nothing ever breaks in engine

Not The Prettiest But Drives The Best! — Too expensive to fix. But has never left me stranded anywhere and me and this car have been together for over 4 years! Drives smoother than anything I have been in before though. This is my baby and once I sell it I will miss it. Makes you want only luxury cars though. A honda or ford will never cut it again.

I Really Liked The Car. — The power that this car has is great but the supercharger took to long to kick in. It has been years since the police have followed me because of the car I drove. The brakes are an upgrade to amg which worked better when you drove the car a ways. The outside looked great but the inside seem to be cheap looking.

Pros

Acceleration, engine sound

Cons

Suspension a bit stiff for rough roads

Wolf In Sheep's Clothing — Amazing acceleration and braking, tracks just like on rails. Nice array of equipment. Parts cost reasonable, dealership service is exemplary. Does 9 L/100 km highway driving, about 14 L/100 km in town. And great, supportive Multi-Contour front seats too!

Pros

Fast for its age.

Cons

Its an older benz... steel is a bit rusty.

My 1999 Mercedes-benz C230 Kompressor — Gets up to speed fast, supercharged and all. Does some sick doughnuts. Gone 110mph on 610 before. 200 horses. Faster than my friends' cars, except bimmer boy's. With some tuning its going to be fun. Its a smooth great ride, sound, and fuel economy. I bought it cheap, 6500 dollars for it, and am thinking of investing about 1000 dollars more for some performance parts. I love it very much, and I am reall lucky that this is my first.

comfy ride, fuel economy

Cons

back seats don't fold down to make huge space in the boot

35

My Merc — I like my car because the ride is so comfy and you can barely hear the engine running. Fuel economy is spot on for a 2.0 litre and the air con and window de-misting qualities are amazingly good. I do not like the fact that the rear seats do not fold forward to make a bigger space in the boot.

Truly a Benz, beauty and performance!

Cons

Needs more acceleration

25

1999 C280 - Performance And Elegance — I wish there was a way to get more horse power out of the car. Performs wonderfully, but I want there to be better acceleration. The electronically controlled throttle doesn't help at all...but I love her, and her name is Olivia! Mercedes did a good job on the updates after 98, but fell off with its successor. Not a fan of it, still a nice car (2001-2006)
