Ok But Definately Not Worth What Ive Put In It — body sucks, fuel mileage sucks, rusting undercarriage, child locks dont work right, getting to the spark plugs is a pain in the rear, flap for heating element in the front broke so no heat up front-wth?, doors shimmy, shake and make all kinds of fun noises :( Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsVery reliable, 6,000 miles away from 200,000 miles. spacious, great in snow and rain, indestructable ( I've been in a few bumps with other cars) and it barely shows any wear and tear. driver and front passenger seats are very comfortable. Not too heavy but not light either. It costs about $30-40 to fill it up half way in gas but that half a tank lasts me at least a week. We haven't had a whole lot of problems with it. We replaced the transmission and took it in once or twice when it was recalled. Has only broken down on the side of the road once (my dad's fault though) ConsHood has big ugly paint chips on it (I've seen many like this), and the side panels under the big plastic piece seem to be wearing away. It's big, hard to back out of a parking space and not get too close to a car in another isle. Has a big blind spot on the drivers left. Has electrical problems. Cabin lights flash when I park it at night, the rear windows barely open or close anymore, passenger window doesn't roll down anymore from the driver's side.

Great, And Reliable! — I probably listed more things wrong with it than right but this van is GREAT. It has taken me and my family across the country and back. It easy to put miles behind you when you drive it, it's very comfortable and relaxed. I have driven it for almost 3 years after my parents gave it to me for my first car and my dad was gonna get a truck, and the only reason why I want another car is because I want something smaller and something that is of my own. I would definately recommend this van. Primary Use: Family transportation

1999 Ford Windstar — My first company car. At first I was upset that I was pooled for a minivan for my job while most of my co-workers were given Tauruses and Sables. But atfter being able to utilize the cargo area and the benefit of a larger cockpit I realized that I was more comfortable in performing my job. I still would never own one personally unless it was a work vehicle, but it was a great vehicle to drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Ford Windstar (awful) — My Mom used to have one and it was awful! It broke down constantly. One time the engine ceased, the transmission went twice, and one time the alternator went. But those were the MAJOR problems. there were a lot of other problems too. The doors would also be realy hard to slide open and closed in the winter. the stereo was terrible as well. The only thing good about this car was that it was spacious and was good in the snow.

Prosum.. I guess if I had to really give a positive- the silver color was nice because it hid dirt fairly well Conshad to replace transmission at <50k miles

Windstar Was Always In The Shop — The flex plate cracked, had to replace that. Then transmission went out before 50k miles - had to replace that. I ended up selling it at a loss. I was glad to have it gone. Replaced it with a 2004 Honda Odyssey and have been much happier with the Honda. I would not recommend this vehicle to a friend.
