Eve - My '99 Mustang Cobra Convertible — MY DREAM CAR! As soon as I saw her, I knew she had to be mine. She's fast, really great cornering, and even after 5 years, I still get excited to drive her. Yes, she's a bit costly to maintain (premium gas, specialized brakes/tires/etc, and basic repairs), so I have a 2nd car - but this was my daily driver for 3 years and it was great (about 28 mpg highway - no too shabby!!). Yes, the interior is a little plain, but I don't mind it - it's simple. The seats are comfy, but don't hold you in very well if you're blasting around corners - I always end up sliding a little. Could use racing seats. But all in all, I LOVE this car. I have lots of plans for upgrades - supercharger, exhaust system, cold air intake, new rims, etc, and plan to keep this car for a long, long time! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

ProsAmazing looking convertible cobra. Low miles and clean! Sounds great and have plenty of performance for the spirited driver. Nothing beats the sound of DOHC V8! Over 4k dollars in modifications, new A/C unit, and Drivetrain (transmission and clutch). All parts are new and installed less than 2k miles ago. Consthere is a slight key mark down the driver side. Hard to notice unless upclose. There is a small leak in the convertible top when there is a heavy rain.

Uhhh — Short review for now. Car has good low end power. Not much traction with OEM 245/45/17 tires. The 4 valve 4.6 pulls strong to the higher than usual almost 7k redline as opposed to the 2 valve 4.6. The IRS is nice going around turns. Shifter is in sort of an awkward spot, needs to be closer to the driver. Gears are very notchy. Aside from that its very smooth. Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Everything I Expected From A Cobra, And More. — This is my 3rd mustang. My first car was a sky blue '73 Grande. My second mustang was an '85 GT. Purchased it used with 66,000 miles on it. Much faster than any car I've owned and in fact is the fastest car I've ever driven. Why, oh why did I wait so long? I've only had it a month and already have driven it faster than anything I've been in except an airplane! I am so impressed with its brakes. All this and I get over 20mpg driving to work, that is just insane. Not quite so happy with the front seat, I tend to get a little stiff and want to move around when on a road trip. Have a noise in the rear driver suspension when I change speeds. Clutch is a little heavy but OK for me. My wife can't drive it. After owning it for a week, the oil cooler sprung a massive leak. It happened as I started it after sitting for a weekend to pull it out of the garage to wash it. If I hadn't noticed it, the motor would have been toast in 10 minutes. My mechanic said he'd never seen anything like it, must have been a casting problem. All in all, this is my favorite of all the cars I've had in 35 years of driving. Good Fun Car With Style — Car is fun....needs more power-but really you can always use more power. Handles OK. Needs suspension upgrades for the track. Great fun car! Instant Satisfaction — It gets stare's no matter where I go, people always say it sounds like a jet. Getting in it and smokin another car is my stress relief!! Fantastic Car For The Price And Only A Few Small Upgrades Can Really Make A Difference! — This car may be N/A .. but it is a fantastic, sporty, head-turning, badass V8! I wish the interior for the New Edge Cobra was updated, but aside from that, I definitely love the Mustang! Very easy and cheap to get a HUGE jump in horsepower with just small upgrades and a couple tweaks here and there. Some day, I will own a 2003 Cobra. :] Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) | ||

My Guilty Pleasure — The car started as my wife's car and one day my son and I went to a track event and that was it. Ten years and more money that I care to make public we have a full fledged track/race car. It's been raced only a few times and does mostly track duty taking clients and friends for a spirited rides.
