Broken, But Not Defeated — My fav car I've ever owned! Its fantastic pickup (esp. considering it's a 6-cyl.), great handling, & solid body construction saved my life when some moron driving a borrowed Ram with no insurance & a suspended license ran a red & nearly t-boned me. If I would have been in a lesser car, I would be dead now. Unfortunately, my car paid the price. I had to buy the salvage, but my body guy did an amazing job. It isn't perfect like it was (only had 1 door ding, & no rust), & I had to scrap the plan to sink another engine in it when this one finally goes, but at least I have my car back! I missed it while it was gone! It's a lot of fun to drive! The only drawback is it only gets about 22 mpg combination of city/country miles, & I have to borrow a friend's SUV when I go camping - no room for gear, of course. But hey, that's only for a couple of days per year - the rest of the time, my 'stang reigns!

ProsSleek car with very little maintenance. ConsCould ride a little smoother and get better fuel economy, but neither is too bad considering it's a sports car.

A Nice Overall Car — People seem to always look when you drive up in a Mustang, and that is true with this one as well. It performs and accelerates well for a V-6, and the only major repair we have had done in 6 years was having the secondary air pump replaced, which was less than $250. Primary Use: Family transportation

ProsIts probably the most fun you can have in a car by yourself ConsIf you really don't care what you drive

Drive One — I love it. Mine is lowered an inch and a half all the way around and it handles like a dream. That, coupled with a nice set of performance tires and it does 0-60 faster than should be legal and can still stop on a dime. I bleed Ford blue, but even I have to admit that the build quality leaves a bit to be desired. However, all problems have been superficial so far. As long as you are religious about maintenance it runs like a clock. It is definitely not a car you buy with your mind, its something you buy with your heart. Terrible gas mileage, not very versatile, and has some massive blind spots with the top up, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else on the road. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Beautiful. Lots Of Fun. — handles like a dream, tough with a live rear axle though. great exterior styling, sweet new rims, paint looks wicked good. tons of fun to drive, lots of torque, has more bark than bite. a few more horses would be kinda nice, maybe an exhaust system. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Prosdecent to drive and is built pretty neatly Consno power, eats gas and no room

1999 Ford Mustang — The car is pretty good, it is a gas guzzler so that is a disadvantage. The power seems pretty good, but truthfully, I think it's pretty slow, espcially with a 3.8L. Its pretty fun to drive, but tight on space, so overall, its an alrite car to have or drive.

99 Mustang — performance-it runs good for a v-6 but i would rather have had the v-8 but for the v-6 it runs good and gets me about 22 mpg so that helps build-well i'd say it's built like a brick but i haven't ran it into anything that's harder than air. so it doesn't have and thing wrong with it except the interior is a little loud you can hear all most everything appearance-since it's the 35th anniversary it looks better than the usual stock but i have put some cobra wheels on it to make it look a lot better because the stock rims are ugly on the new style mustang fun factor-yeah it's fun to drive i can take a 40 mph curve at 80+ without a problem. but the get up and go is lacking a little but it's better than most that's where i wished i had the v-8

For A Used Car With 96,000 Miles I Found The Steering & Suspension Tight. — The car handles well on both the highway & in town. The engine even with all those miles on it ran smooth. All of the gaskets are sealed with no fluid leaks. My big concern is with the top. It has a hole rotting in the vinyl where it is glued to the wondow. |
