Still In The Works — I have used this truck to haul my 32 ft 4000 dry weigh travel trailer from Georgia to Colorado. It has new rims, paint and a bed cover since the pictures, I will try to add them. I have put a factory rebuilt engine, redone the rear end before the haul to Colorado and have done my best to hit every service onetime. I am hoping to keep this truck until it is a classic. Looking to change the paint to a primer of some kind and put in new interior. We will see.

1999 Ford F-150 Lariat Review — step side makes it incredibly easy to get into and out of the box. very well powered doesn't lack any horse power. incredibly comfortable in the front seats with lots of leg room for other passengers. this truck is fun to off-road and 4X4, handles very well off-road.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

It's WHITE

I Love It — It's an American built truck and it is awesome. Never really had any big problems with this truck. No matter what I use it for it never quits. The only thing that I can say bad about it is that I am not to much a fan of a white truck, but the pin stripping help.

Good Truck, But Could Be Better. — It's a decent truck, but the V6 lacks power, especially going up hill. Has sufficient cab space, but not for more than two people. "Bench seat" is actually split, making it more like two bucket seats with a center counsel, which I don't find as comfortable as a normal bench seat. Ride is good, and offroad capability even without 4wd is impressive. For such a big truck, I've gotten it through some tight places I wouldn't be comfortable taking another vehicle through. Body and power train are in surprisingly good condition considering its age and weather it has endured. However, be cautious in maintaining it, otherwise it'll cost you more money fixing things that have been let go (obviously).

Cons

The V6 under the hood.

With Some Upgrades, This Truck Will Be Untouchable. — What it lacks i performance it makes up for in looks. Planning many upgrades. Handles exceptionally well with the lowered suspention. Other than minor rust and basic maintenance this truck turns heads everywhere. lots of plans, just need to make the money for the parts.

Pros

fun to drive, very quick for a 4wd truck, 5.4 v8, tough as nails.

Cons

This vehicle is very thirsty for gasoline, but!, this is primarily due to the fact that i can't keep my foot outta the gas pedal lol.

I Would Own More Than One Of These Trucks If I Could Afford To, Definatly A Good Buy. — I love this truck, it is tough as nails, has a fantastic sound to it i love loud exhaust, it has true dual flowmasters, 5.4 v8, plenty of power, plenty of torque, decent gas mileage around 15-16mpg average, but i get down in it every chance i get. i run mobil 1 5w30 in it and it doesn't use one drop of oil between changes, and i'm sittin at 190,000, all in all i don't have any complaints about the truck other than it has a led odometer and it tends to stay blank alot of the time, but other than that i love the thing and i would recommend it to anyone.

Pros

Reliable, tough

Cons

Not as much power as I'd like from a pickup

Good Enough For Now — It isn't Ford's best truck, but for what it is, it does pretty well and it does what I've needed it to do. Its 11 years old, has 140,000 miles on it, and is still running fine. It only has the 4.2 L V-6, but its handled Cleveland winter exceptionally so far, I'm satisfied with it until I need something bigger.

Sluggish acceleration.  Duh, it's a V6 half ton truck....

Best Truck I've Ever Owned. — This truck has been in my family since it was brand new. My dad put around 120,000 miles on it before I got it, but they are all highway miles so the truck still runs like a champ. She's never left me stranded and I've never had a single issue with her, probably the most reliable vehicle my dad or I have ever owned.

I Would Buy Another Ford, Before Even Looking At Other,, The Nightmares I Have Heard — No cons, excellent Truck, brought it with 145K, replace Alternator only, now have 215K, has the V6 4.2L pulls my 16' with two 4 wheelers and camping stuff. with goodyear RT's on and off road. Engine Restorer does work, I know for a fact, been using it since 145K, now 215K still running like a champ..
