Chevy S-10 — I'm not sure if i have the right model here, but it's a 3 door, with AWD, and a shortbed, mind you I don't know about the widestance part. The 4.3 vortec has lots of balls. the tranny is geared more for towing, but if you put your foot down it can really haul ass. I've heard its governed at 160 km/h, but i wouldnt want to do much more that 115 - 120 on stock suspension and stearing, feels reall loose at higher speeds. Its a fun truck to drive mind you, with the massive power plant relative to the weight of this little truck. With the option to go in either RWD or AWD you can really have some good times around corners and round-abouts. again the transmission limits burnouts, unless thats just a sign that the truck needs a tune-up, not sure really. Haven't check. Dad wont let me really get at his baby ;) The truck itself seems pretty solid, and its not like its going to fall apart on the road. It's a well buit truck. Overall, its a great little truck, and I would love to actually own one.

Pros

Lots of fun to drive and goes just about anywhere.

Cons

Wish the 3rd row had room for a child seat.

Best Off-road Light Duty Truck — Great truck on and off road. Especially off road! Easy modifications give the truck lot's of power and OK on the gas milage. Well balanced for hill climbing and great stability while air born. Suspension very durable and frame exceptionally strong. 4 wheel anit-lock disc brakes can stop the truck going 45 mph in less distance than a Las Vegas intersection. Wish that it came in leather. Also wish the extended cab had room for a child seat. We would have kept it if it did : (.

Pros

Good truck for off road and winter driving.

Cons

Many problems with front end suspension and brakes.

Nice Off Road And Utility Vehicle. — The engine on this vehicle is great very reliable. The brakes are a weak point and the suspension wears out quickly. The interior is well laid out just a little on the small side. Is very prone to rust in the usual spots on third door, fender wells and cab corners.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Its A Fun Truck — tough as nails, been put through hell and still works, performance wise, its a bit slow, but its torquey for the weight it handles, cheap maintenance , its a pretty fun truck to drive down the track even if it doesnt have the power

She's Been Good To Me, And Has A Lot Of Mile On Her — She's been really good to me, no problems, no stalls, transmission is a beast. shes got a nice sexy look for any person who wants a lil power, but that's about it. she pops off with no problem, no matter the weather conditions (and that's a guy from Minnesota talking)

Great Little Truck. — For a truck has pretty damn good handling and acceleration. Braking is so so could use an upgrade. Gas mileage is not so good get around 18 when i drive normal and about 25 when im driving like a grandma thats 50/50 city/highway

Pros

It was sweet on the eyes.

Cons

Its a discontinued lemon, meaning they dont make them anymore. If you want a reliable compact pickup try a Ford Ranger.

Idk — It was a top of the line stepside, extended cab S-10. Included the leather seats and bose premium sound system it was just a cluncker from the assembly line. It only had about 30 k on it when i sold it because i was tired of dumping money into it! Im a die hard FORD man now!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

If you have the money to spend look into a Toyota Tacoma.

Cons

Poor fuel economy average build quality nothing special.

Excellent Vehicle For The Cost Very Reliable Motor. — Plenty of power (4.3L engine) Reliable truck no problems yet just keep up on the service intervals. Handles like a truck id say its the best handling mid-sized truck. Build quality is noting to be desired mid grade interior nothing fancy. Appearance is nice great body lines and grille is typical chevy like. Cost of Ownership is quite average for any midsized truck although you will consume more fuel than most with the 4.3L trim. It will get you where you need to go perfect for heavy snow climates or anywhere 4x4 is needed.

Cost of Ownership and Functionality

Cons

Slow, hard to drive in snow

I'm Very Happy With It. — Acceleration - not impressive, but could be worse! Braking - awesome, spot on Handling - decent for a truck, but makes me miss my car Build Quality - it's basically a Cavalier w/ a truck bed, so not the best build quality Appearance - exterior - I like the appearance of the truck, just don't like the color and the incredible number of S10s out there. Appearance - interior - Great looking interior Cost of Ownership - 5 stars, low mainenance, good MPGs. Fun Factor - it's fun only because: 1. manual trans 2. rear wheel drive
