Cannot always be reliable

Good Car For A 1998 Subaru — Performance: about 10 seconds from 0 to 100 km/hr, takes a bit of time to brake fully Build Quality: never needed much repairs except when it got 8 years older Appearance: Not bad for a 1998 though the rear would have been better designed, the interior is quite simple and chic Cost of Ownership: very economic Fun Factor: a surprising car

Buy A Subaru You Wont Regret It — i love everything about this car its awesome, dependable and fun. its fast and handles anything ive thrown at it. rides very comfortably and can fit alot of stuff in it. it gets good mileage, not great good and as with any car you either get fun or good mileage and this car provides a happy medium. i have owned it for a couple of years and have only had to do the brakes

It Was Ok — So many problems once I hit 130,000 miles. Blew the head gasket and I rarely ever hit it hard. It was an endless money pit.The interior was nice and the exterior was pretty good. It started to rust like every 1990s jap trap does.

98 Subaru Legacy — its a pretty nice car with a lot of speed features, it has a turbo charged 4 cylinder and all wheel drive. the car exterior tends to fall apart though, other than that its a pretty nice car and it packs a punch for its size and powertrain. It's currently owned by my sister.

Well designed, performs well on rough roads, secure.

Cons

More expensive, somewhat louder engine.

1998 Subaru Legacy Outback — Secure AWD, great alternative to an SUV for rugged field work, although city mpg is low (21). Performs fairly well, though it has a unique growl (All Subaru boxer engines are supposed to be noisy). Fairly expensive to maintain when I bought it second hand. It doesn't handle as well as I hoped, compared to a smaller car such as a 4 door Japanese import, but it is WAY better than driving an SUV. It performs exceedingly well on rutted and gravel roads. Has great carrying capacity.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

AWD!, almost 200,000mi and still going strong!

Cons

Wish it were a 5spd

Great For Family Adventures! — The AWD is great, mine is an automatic so it doesn't accelerate as fast as I would like, but it handles great. I wish it had better gas mileage, but it's not to bad, mid 20's.
