Cons

Brakes could be better that's it

Trans Am Ws6 — This car performance wise is great you will not be disappointed it excelerates very quickly and the only draw back is braking from a high rate of speed it's no good unless you get some after market rotors. It handles very well also but you have to be careful becuase it tends to kick to the side to the point you feel like it will do a 360 if your not careful. The build quality is good but the car is way better with after market parts of course. The apperence is very intimidating from the ram air hood to the sleek very airodynamic body styling. The cost of owning it is very low if you can do most of the work yourself other then that it relatively low. Another plus is how well it deos on gas with it getting 31mpg highway and 25 mpg in the city is not bad for a muscle car. Which i mat add is considerably better than the competetion. It is an all around good car with tons of performance and fun to drive

Cons

Can You Catch This? — the 1998 trans am was a one year only appearance. although this car may look similar to all 4th generation firebird there are many features which are year specific. the most noticable is the front fascia. the foglights (found only on trans ams) are located closer to the center. and the corner lights are stacked, where newer version are side by side.

When It Is Done It Will Be Priceless!!!! — It runs great when I step on it. Handles beautifully. It is an orangeish rust color. It needs out body work on the front. The inside I will get it better. But for $500. I can't complain. By far my favorite car.

Great Car — Love a great body, has all the power you could ever need, fun to drive, love the t-tops, handles like a dream, not so good on gas and in the snow, but overall a great car to own and drive.

Pros

Power, sound, looks

Cons

quality, reliability, longetivity, over 100K junk

Transam — Sounded great, LS1 V8 power and torque, build quality is complete garbage. T-Tops are great for open air. Car looks sexy and girls dig it. Hence GM is in trouble. Do yourself a favor, you want quality, go german period...

Pros

Strong car that can be put into the low 12's with a head/cam package.
Very strong engine, car comes lowered from factory, and handling is
excellent.

Cons

Seat leather quality. Interior trim plastics easily scratch.

With The Ls1 And It Being American Muscle, Nothing Can Be Better. — The 346 cubic inch LS1 engine is a favored engine among the huge base of LSx based fans. The Trans am comes stock fully loaded with leather, t- tops, monsoon sound sysetm with cd player, 16 inch alloy wheels and an agressive look.

320 horsepower @ 5200 rpm.  Fast acceleration.  Great braking and handling. Great interior, really comfortable.

Cons

Interior is kinda loud because of the exhaust I have on it.

Whether You Are Looking For A Street Rod Or Race Car Or Just A Nice Car It Works For You. — This car is absolutely amazing. See I love cars but you don't have to love cars to love this one. Its a nice smooth ride and it sounds nice too. I like to race and this car beats most in a straight out race but you don't have to race it. It wasn't just designed to be raced.

Solid Perfoming Car For The Money, Cheap To Mod. — All around good car. Some rattles, but it looks great and is fun to drive. The prices on them are really great considering what you get, and it responds really well to mods. T-tops are really great when the weather is nice.

LS1 performance, muscle car feel

Cons

El-cheapo interior and wheel hop

I Was Lucky Enough To Buy My Dream Car As My First Car. — As most muscle cars, the Firebird Trans Am has superior torque and acceleration and never fails to impress in that department. One area it excells in where older muscle cars didn't is braking. Even with the stock pads and rotors, these brakes can dish out the whiplash. Additionally, this can won't handle like a VW or BMW, but its not that shabby for what it is. As far as build quality of the drivetrain, it is fantastic. The interior is a different story however. The firebirds are a classic example of the cheap GM interiors of the 90's. The external appearance can best be described as "drop dead sexy" and it always gets looks when I take it out. The only maintainence issue I had was a squeaky pulley which was easy to fix. If you bought this car for the gas mileage, you may not be impressed (even though it gets 26 highway). However, if you buy it for the fun factor, you couldn't have spent you're money any better!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

quick, nice looking, comfy,

Cons

Power steering leak seems to be a popular issue

Great — quick car with bad gas mileage if you floor it constantly, like any other car. i believe its performance is one of the best for the price i paid for this type of car. I highly recommend this car to anybody that loves muscle!

You may want to look good in a car but in my eyes all you need is the sound and you cant beat a V8 for sound quality because it just rumbles, slowly ticking over waiting to eat you up with sound. Read More
