handled like it was on rails

Cons

a deer totaled it

Eclipse — Great car! I would recommend it. I had a lot of mods on it. Neuspeed sway and strut bars, AEM long body cold air intake, Adjustable gas shocks (handled like a dream), 18" brushed aluminum rims, and a 4" catback. it was loud.

These Are Some Of The Hottest Rides. — I love everything about my 1998 ecllipse gs, all the options that come with the car are in working condition, there are no squeaks at all. I enjoy driving this car around as for the looks and also for the way it looks cruising with the sunroof open and just jamming to some music with my two 12 inch Kenwood subs, and the 1800w Kenwood amp, kenwood is all that is in my ride and im soon going to post some pics up here of it.

Great — I have gone though stages of these kind of DSM's. First was a FWD Auto, Second was a AWD Auto and finally now I got the best of them all. This car just overall is great. I LOVE IT!!! Go DSM's!!!

Pros

awd sporty and year round car...

Cons

60k maintenance can be very pricey. do it yourself.

Great Fast Car And Can Be Modded And Made Fast With Little Money. — car was really nice for a 98. awd was great in winter and took anything off the line. stock wise the car had great response, but also had boost drop towards redline. with few mods and money you can unleash alot of hidden power. crankwallk where a big problem with these model DSM, BUT i never experienced crankwalk with both my dsms. timing belt, water pump and oil pump are highly recommened to be done every 60K miles.

Pros

agressive handling, quick

Cons

upkeep cost, poor build quality, suprisingly low fuel mileage

Dissapointment — Fun to drive but only if you know HOW TO DRIVE. Engine and turbo are dying and various instruments and gauges have already "eclipsed" the engine and turbo to that destination. The car is quick if the turbo decides to fire and upon my last installment of gas in this vehicle i was not pleased to find out that in town she was getting 12.6 miles to the gallon on a four cylinder.

Cons

it has squeaks and rattles inside (what 2g doesnt?), i do have to re-thread the head and replace a few gaskets but thats just to up-keep it  =)

My '98 Eclipse Gs-t — Acceleration is great compared to cars weight, braking is good, handles like a champ No major repairs needed yet but soon, rattles when cold inside Looks great outside, real leather inside 25 city 30ish highway I love driving this car!

Greatest Car In The Whole While World — I love it, its taken quite a beating, I race it all the time everywhere and not a glitch. It wasnt that expensive and I havent had any repairs beyond oil change. It picks up a bunch of girls. Love it

This Car Kicks Ass. — I'ts all wheel drive and turbo charged. Whats not to like? As long as I keep my foot out of it it averages 20-25 mpg. Not really desinged to transport more than two people. And its pretty easy to work on.
