Pros

Its a different looking compact and its something different.

Cons

Tuners tend to ruin them so look for a nice model that isnt destroyed by someone.

The Bottom-line Is You Get What You Pay For With Any Model Civics But They're Great Daily Drivers. — Just an overall great car that you dont see that much. Has okay performance but it is nothing special to begin with. Only costs about 23 bucks to fill even after "spirited" driving and cost of maintenance is incredibly cheap so a fantastic car in general. The fun factor with this car isnt very high to be honest. Unless you put a little work into it, it will only be a commuter with less than 140 horses.

Buy It If U Get A Great Deal — amazing first car, i got it for 1500. it is amazing as a daily driver. you can tell it had small people in mind, i wish the seats were taller. at a red light, it accelerates quickly so i don't hesitate. the ride is nice but you feel every bump and i hate that.

Pros

Handling and power fun in a light car not made for either.

Cons

Rust, rust, damned rust. As a 6-footer with a bad back, I don't find the egress and seating helpful.

Solid Reliable Inexpensive Transportation — I bought it used, expecting a couple more years. The Civic would have none of that, and for about $800 repairs a year to pass inspection it's kept going four years. Change the oil and filter and put gas in it. I would buy another with few reservations, depending on my needs. I'd prefer something a bit larger/taller, and may even forego the 5-speed in my next car.

Fun Car Few Problems — I have had this car for about 7 years now and i am still proud to say that i own a honda civic coupe. I have the manual transmission and love how it feels when cornering the only problem that i have had is with the breaks they have squeaked fro a long time i have had the wheels realigned and and breaks replaced and ask the honda dealer to check that specifically but nothing has worked. i had a friend who had the sedan of the same year and he has the same problem aside from the noise there is no problem with the brakes so i just live with it. i love driving this car fast it is really quite fun when pushed. i average about 30 mpg per on most fill ups.

Pros

This car has been a reliable car for my wife for the past 14 years, we have taken trips and used it for daily commutes for many years, has nice new tires, starts easily, well maintained and safe to drive in the winter. Lastly, on the highway it has gotten 34 mpg last time we drove it, in the city it still performs well with 29 mpg.

Cons

Other than its intended size/ purpose, I'm not sure what to write here, I have enjoyed driving it even though I'm 6'0 and 230 pounds.

Great First Car For Someone Or As A Second Car — As with most Honda Civic's, they were built to last and this car is no exception to that rule. It has a yearly average of 6400 miles a year and with usual changing of the timing belt and water pump it should easily go another 90,000 miles.

Fun And Reliable But Not For A Performance Snob — 4-cylinder engine leaves some performance to be desired but the car is sturdy and reliable. the sedan is small and anyone over 6 feet tall will feel very cramped and find it difficult to enter the car... the exterior styling is great however the interior feels a bit cheap with plastic dash and door trim.. overall the car feels more akin to a go-cart than a sedan but it will get the job done.

Pros

I get 35+mpg with over 90hp :o)  and its not broke like your american pile

Cons

you can time the 1/4 mile with a sundial and its not meant for offroad use

It's Not A Rice Burner, Maybe A Rice Cooker? — To start its got the fine Honda engineering that Should go into all premium automobiles. It's never let me down, I've only had to do the basics that you would with any other car but without any major problems. Bought it with 88k and now I got about 110k and still rolling strong. Not quite the horsepower of todays cars but how many of todays cars get over 35mpg in traffic day in and out? great first car, good on gas, cheap on parts, fun to drive

Cons

lack of hp with the stock 1.6L engine

Great First Car — no ABS or power steering in this car. i actually prefer the lack of power steering over having it, but ABS is useful to have. very easy car to modify. lots of fun to drive. heats up very fast, and plenty of cargo room with the rear seats folded down

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)
