Great Commuter — Nothing flash, but everything is done right. The car has over 210000 miles on it and still runs like a top. I get almost 30 mpg combined and I don't have a light foot. Frankly this car will run forever if you take proper car of it, and probably even if you don't.

Cheap Fuel Efficient, Reliable, Takes A Beating And Keeps On Ticking — underpowered, seems like eveerything build wise is just enought to keep them running. parts are cheap and you can find them everywhere. you take care of the car and the car will take care of you, nice car to blend in if you know what I mean...

Very Low Maintenance, Very Reliable, Great Gas Mileage At 33+ — This has been a great car that has served my family well. Got my daughter thru High School and College, and now providing a great commuting car with very low costs. Honda continues to provide a great automobile that lasts!

Pros

Handling and power fun in a light car not made for either.

Cons

Rust, rust, damned rust. As a 6-footer with a bad back, I don't find the egress and seating helpful.

Solid Reliable Inexpensive Transportation — I bought it used, expecting a couple more years. The Civic would have none of that, and for about $800 repairs a year to pass inspection it's kept going four years. Change the oil and filter and put gas in it. I would buy another with few reservations, depending on my needs. I'd prefer something a bit larger/taller, and may even forego the 5-speed in my next car.

Pros

This car has been a reliable car for my wife for the past 14 years, we have taken trips and used it for daily commutes for many years, has nice new tires, starts easily, well maintained and safe to drive in the winter. Lastly, on the highway it has gotten 34 mpg last time we drove it, in the city it still performs well with 29 mpg.

Cons

Other than its intended size/ purpose, I'm not sure what to write here, I have enjoyed driving it even though I'm 6'0 and 230 pounds.

Great First Car For Someone Or As A Second Car — As with most Honda Civic's, they were built to last and this car is no exception to that rule. It has a yearly average of 6400 miles a year and with usual changing of the timing belt and water pump it should easily go another 90,000 miles.

Cons

Great First Car — no ABS or power steering in this car. i actually prefer the lack of power steering over having it, but ABS is useful to have. very easy car to modify. lots of fun to drive. heats up very fast, and plenty of cargo room with the rear seats folded down

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros

Very dependable and great gas mileage. Average 35-36mpg in town. Alternate between premium and regular octane seems to help both mpg and performance.

Cons

A lot of things needed repair at one time after I purchased it.

Great Used Car At A Small Price — Since my 2000 Civic SI was stolen, I needed to replace it. Found this one locally for about 2k. One owner and clean interior. Average Exterior. Had to repair both window regulators, brakes, headliner, 2 tires, A/C service. Timing belt was done at 140k ( I bought with 148k on car ) by a dealer. . If this car can now maintain its dependablity and performance ( mpg ) for another 50-60k it's will be a great investment. Forgot to mention, buy silicone or hondabond. Most of this generation ( 90's Civics ) tend to had water leaks in/around and end up in the trunk with spare tire. I have slowed mine down substancially by sealing underside or trunk where seams are.
