98 F 150 — I have 318,000 miles what else can be said ? I just now need to put a transmission in it. Paint is still very good I think this is the only year that they put 3 doors in them I wish it had 4

Pros

Overall its been a durable truck

Cons

Not that great on fuel, commute to work going across a mountain everyday.

It's Dependable And Easy To Work On. — There's not that much room in the back for kids to ride in on long trips camping. While pulling a camper I've had to add air bag suspension on it to level the truck out. But it's paid for and easy to work on.

Pros

Power, pretty, good options, power everything, can tow, milage is good for a truck

Fords 1998 F-150 Xlt 5.4 Liter V-8 — All around great truck, however it was in a sort of leap year for lug patterns, and it is hard to find any rims with the 5 on 135 pattern. However the 5.4 well makes up for this in power and torque. The overhead cam and bullet proof block make it a power house for this little body. However the Mass air flow sensor is crap. Pure crap.

1998 F150 — Well this is the simplest vehicle i own. no blind spots comfortable for two and so versatile that it can be used for anything at all ( except Dinner with the wife ). Needs to be upgraded though to a more creature comfort version like the SVT.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros

its nice and quiet for when your sneakin onto a farmers land at 6 AM to hunt. Also great for towing and hauling stuff

Be Nice To Your Truck — Its got great handling and braking. The acceleration is great for a 4.6l v8. i wish it was a 5.4 but what can you do. I did have to do a few repairs on it over the past few years. The sway bar endlinks did rust through and have to be replaced for like $20. The rear diff got water in it and need to have the fluid changed (dont forget friction modifier!), which was due to pilot error ( don't submerge the back half of your truck in water to pull out a boat...) and brake torque burnouts do put enough to stress on your car to eventually break your u-joints. I have had a problem with a squeak in the suspension in the front passanger side. Inside of the car looks great with the 50th aniversary leather seats. Outside is a bit scratched up from hunting, but looks good after a wax, especially the 4x4 emblems on the sides. Although it costs a pretty penny to drive, with 10 - 12 mpg but if you need a truck, its a good one. Its tons of fun to drive, on and off-road. handles great in the mud if you got 4x4.

Pros

Like the look and fairly comfortable for (four) adults.

Cons

Don't like where muffler comes out the side of truck by door (Stinks like exhaust) when you get in while truck is running.

Good! — The apperance is good and comfortable ride. Nice having back seat and the bed for storage. The V8 motor runs great and gets fairly good gas mileage. The braking system is fairly good, though in the rain it tends to want to hydroplane at times? Its a good truck for what our family uses it for, back and fourth to shop and traveling(fishing) etc...

Like full size trucks you will like this one. Plenty of towing power.

F150 — Fairly dependable truck. A big gas hog! I get only about 12 miles to the gallon. It has a lot of power. It should since it uses so much gas. Pulled a uhaul trailer through the mountains of Colorado and it had no problems. Feel lucky that the previous owner took care of it. The only thing is some rust underneath due to the winters in Colorado. Definitely a truck I would recommend for heavy work.

Great Truck With Lousy Paint! — I enjoyed driving the Ford F-150. It was roomy and spacious with plenty of storage compartments. I like not having a center console and being able to move freely in the cabin. I also like being able to seat 3 people comfortably. This is a nice truck with the exception of the paint. The paint on the F-150 is very dull.

Pros

It is an overall great truck and no matter what happens to it, it will always be with me even when the wheels fall off.

Cons

The only draw backs to my truck is the gas milage and some body damage.

My Truck. — my truck is 13 years old and the only problem i have had out of it is a slight coolant leak fixed it 45 minutes. It drives great and sounds great with the straights on it. Performance is pretty good for a small V8 it has great torque and handles pretty good too.

1998 F150 — Outstanding truck. Lasts forever tons of fun to drive. A little slow at the top end but a tune up is all that's necessary. Fair price for plates. Awesome 4x4 for tons of fun when the road is too boring
