Total Package — I never thought I'd own this Suburban this long, but it has served me well. Its large, can haul an enormous amount and tow a 28' Boat with ease. Around town it gets between 16-18 mpg with the A/C ON! and on the freeway about 20 mpg doing 65. It's comfortable and safe. Unfortunately, GM choose not to continue fitting a Diesel in an SUV (other than the $100,000 + Hummer H1) after 1999, so I have kept it because it can't really be replaced. Ford offered the Excursion Diesel, is almost too big if you plan on having to park in a parking space, plus, it doesn't ride as smooth as the Suburban, and the 6.0 engines were not reliable. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Great Truck — Great power and tourque. Gas mileage is pretty crappy, but it makes up for it in looks and performance. Great for camping and cruising thru any terrain. Fun to drive! 4:10 gears, front and back. Welded rear spindle. 4 inch lift with 35's Primary Use: Commuting to work | ||

Pretty Good — So much room for upgrades, tight radius, and good handling for a SUV. Braking leaves a little to be desired. No repairs after 6 years. Not a fan of the body, but i can't argue with the seating. Gas is a downside, but not when your parents pay "). I enjoy driving it, but I would rather a Eclipse. |
