A Classic Car Which Can Still Compete — I love this car because of its wonderful Northstar V-8 engine. The car is a class act when it comes to styling. The only thing is that it can be quirky at times and has slight problems with the transmission. The gas mileage on the highway is awesome for a V-8 engine. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Great Car With Suprising Engine — I love the 300 hp engine and how it roars to life at the touch of the gas pedal, I also love how comfy it is too! First got it for a cheap price but soon quickly realized it was so much more! Color is dark green and looks black in some light. has 118,000 miles on it but she still runs beautifully!

My Baby — I LOVE THIS CAR. I'm not the only one that drives it i share it with my grandfather but im the only one that takes care of it. Riding in this car is like sitting in the lap of luxury and the stock sound system in it isn't bad either

You See The Blue Light Flashing Behind You Please Move Out Of The Way — well lets see i got the car for free so there not much to complain about the price, the overall preformanace on the car is pretty good once you step on the gas and it will go, the only bad thing about it is that its a front wheel drive V8 so the front tires go alot faster than the back, its got a 32 valvue NorthStar motor with 295 horses, plan to put on a K&N intake kit system, Magna Flow exhaust, Hood scoop, and a 27 Saber TIR Mini Lightbar, it gets about 20 mpg in city and 26 highway but the only things is it needs to run off of super and last week it took me $60.00 at $3.19 a gallon to fill it up from empty Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

1998 Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe Review
ProsAwesome styling. A lot of power. Great front and rear seat comfort. Great options list as mine is fully loaded. Beautiful shade of red. BEAUTIFUL instrument panel styling. Great ride for a sporty car. Passing power is AWESOME when floored ---OMG! I never before had to use the brakes so much after passing someone before! LOL. The stereo is great! The overall quality of the interior is in keeping with the car's image. Better than the German or Japanese models. The driving position is nice. ConsToo much road noise when the radio and a/c are off for this type of car. Headroom is tight for a 6 footer with the sun roof option. Transmission heats up on the highway. The "throw" of the gas pedal needs to be revised as most of the power comes when you press more than 3/4 of the way down then, watch out, as it takes off like a B-52 bomber!

I Love My 1998 Cadillac Etc - When It Works! — My transmission overheats on the highway. On VERY hot days (over 95 degrees), my engine overheats on hilly sections of the highway. I have to stay at 65 MPH and it is fine. If I push it over 90, it overheats. On days when the temp is at 70-80, it is fine. UPDATE!! As of 02/19/2013, the car is not on the road due to a blown northstar head gasket which was causing the over-heating problem. It is sitting until July, at which time, I will get the new gasket installed for $3,000.00. This is unacceptable on the part of General Motors. The founder of Cadillac, Henry Martyn Leland was actually a cousin of mine too so, this is sad for me. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Wouldn't Buy Another Cadillac Unless I Made More Money And Bought One With Very Low Miles. — Great, powerful, classy looking car. Had lots of extras like heated seats, mpg readout, and great lumbar support. A very fast car, but you had to really step on it to get it to show it's full potential. Lots of little things went out on the car like the power windows, the air conditioning, the front end got clunky, and the transmission began to hard shift. All these problems and only 90 thousand miles. Only took it in a couple times to get things fixed and never left with a bill under 500 dollars. In conclusion, Was a very beautiful, fun to drive car, but it is very expensive on upkeep. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
