1998 Bmw 5 Series 540i — Performance: 4.4 V8 is fast. Brakes are great, handles as well as the Saloon which is no bad thing. Build Quality: Good, as expected. Appearance: Good looking, rare alloys Cost of Ownership: Thirsty, don't expect the quoted MPG Fun Factor: Fun to drive, feels safe so you can push it a bit Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

1998 Bmw 540i — it was a beautiful machine, if you get the chance drive one and tell me what you think. The car is expensive to maintain but it is worth the money in the long run. any questions just email me and would respond appropriately. the frame is solid asa rock can't go wrong with it.at all Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsBMW. The Ultimate Driving Machine. There's a reason this slogan hasnt changed in ages. Consnothing! just wish it was brand new again.

Just A Damn Good Car! — Performance : inline 6 engine is torquey and quick off the line. Braking is excellent, handling is admirable for a 12 year old machine. Build : for 126,000 miles, it's holding up well Appearance : stylish and classy without being gaudy, BMW's just age well. Cost : 28mph highway, but I always treat it to supreme gas because it deserves it. Fun : for a mid-size sedan, it is damn fun. Just wait til i mod it. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsAbove par build quality, lots of room, comfortable and quiet ride with good fuel consumption ConsBoring to drive, soft clutch and shifting, HVAC unit is poorly designed and has crappy buttons

Bmw 528i 5spd Sport Package — The car is very reliable and has good build quality. However its extremely boring to drive and you just blend in with all of the housewifes and old men going to play golf. I have the sport package and its the only way to go because it really enhances the visual appeal of the car. One thing i really don't like is the front bumper design. It is a disaster and a curb catcher. Also to much body roll. The hvac is poorly thought out. For instance in order to turn on rear defrost i have to turn on the hvac. I would suggest this car to the average individual who just wants to get from point A to B. Overall great car but boring.

Proscomfort, performance, fuel economy Consboring

A Great Daily Driver — Very comfortable and sophisticated car to drive, but almost too boring. This car makes you enjoy normal commuting and 99% of driving, whereas the older models are not as comfortable but can offers thrills this one can't. I've owned it for a little over a year now, and not too much has gone wrong with it. Fuel economy is good for an engine this large.

Pros"Cushy" ride feel, and plush driving experience. Consa little too boring for performance driving.

Great Luxury Commuter.....but That's About It. — Very plain "jane" interior looks. The traditional red with black lighting system wears on the eyes during night excursions. Performance was great during long trip travel and allowing for absolute comfort however when asking a little more of the BMW for cornering and power follow through in regards to turns, there was lethargic, sluggish, and even a hesitant reaction when the throttle was applied.

ProsGreat to just cruise and chill or go mad and relieve stress or anger. ConsParts and whatnot cost a good bit.

Its A Great Car, I Love It — Handles and performs awesome, brake hard=coming out of seats, accelerate to get right back in your seat, and for being a 4 doors sedan, turns great. I'd say its built quite well, seems to be engineered for durability but not really ease of repair. Insurance aint that much for me, but parts are not cheap at all. Its also every bit capable of 25 mpg with kind highway type of driving, however, how often does that really happen. I love it, fairly easy tame for me and can do anything I ask of it. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Love It — it drives wery good, the braking is exelent. all the sercvis' have been follow'd. front seats is litle tired, but backseat is as good as new. no big repairs. i just love it. use a bit to much gas for my taste, but it will go fast when you do a kick down Primary Use: Family transportation
