Great First Car! — I got this car in great condition for a 97. If I had bought it brand new, it would have been one of the more luxurious cars on the market. Being a mercury (performance Fords) it fairs well with gas miliage, very few engine problems, and more competitive than is sister the Escort. Again had I bought the car new I could have put work into the engine and body, and it woud've been a very appealing car to drive. Though, it's body style is dull with a funky rear end, I still love how it zips around! |

Good First Car, And Is A Good Overall Car. — Well since it is a 1997 and it has around one-hundred thousand miles on it the brakes are a little worn and the gas pedal is a little sticky. But other than that this car is really nice on gas and is reliable. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

1997 Mercury Tracer Wagon — Performance is pretty slow, but the handling is alright. Brakes are pretty weak but they are most likely just worn out. Quality is alright, the engine was replaced by the dealer at 40,000 miles so I am not sure about that. Looks like the average grocery getter. Great gas mileage, fun to drive around when the gas gauge isn't moving. Car gets pretty boring to drive, you floor it and it takes forever to downshift and then finally when it does you just make a lot of noise and hardly go anywhere. I guess would recommend it for getting around town and for gas mileage. |
