1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E420 Sport Edition Review
ProsPower, braking, comfort, space, features, safety, appearance ConsWould benefit from sportier suspension and less weight

97 E420 Sport — The 4.2L engine is incredible, and performance only hampered by the weight of the vehicle. Surprisingly easy on tires. Great braking power. Fuel economy is around 18-20mpg mixed driving. The 5-speed automatic is very versatile and driver- adaptive. You don't get those constant upshifts-downshifts like on the earlier E320 (and ML320) models. Very roomy and comfortable. Still gets compliments! Primary Use: Commuting to work

Fun Family Car. — I love this car!! My lead foot loves the quick and reliable acceleration from a dead stop or to pass from a nice cruising speed. Rides smoothly and quietly. The car is sturdy and big enough for my family, yet fun enough for an enthusiast. MPG is good for 8 cylinders. FUN FUN FUN.

Mercedes Benz E 320 1997 — This Mercedes Benz type, is the successful E class of all time. started since 1996 until the last model 1999. It has powerful 6-cylinder 3200CC engine, very nice suspension (although you lowered it) and of course very nice handling. The appearance of this car is so luxury, just like a prince from heaven. Really A Work Of Art — this car is different from all the other e-class because it has been specified and i bought it and issued it straight from the factory whereas i didn't even go to the dealership to get it, all interior electronics are all custom fitted and seats are are really comfortable Primary Use: Family transportation

Build To Last, Easy To Burn! — Solid build quality and presence that can't be denied. Performance was outstanding for I-6 engine. Electrical issues spoiled the day. Ownership cost though was comparable to mid size sedans. Overall, its nice to have it once in a while. Primary Use: Commuting to work
