Pros

Quick, loud, cheap, fun to drive, low end torque, classic American car, respected name, cheap insurance.

Cons

Typical mustang problems exist, poor handling, typical mustang suspension, 4.6 is harder to work on than the 5.0

Fun To Drive, But Not Too Fast Or Comfortable. — The 97 GT is a typical mustang with its normal issues such as the tendency for the oil seal to break, its heavy and large front end, and its ancient solid rear axle. The car doesn't brake very well since it has smaller brakes than many of the cars in the same class as it, but it stops decently. the interior feels somewhat dated especially the center console I don't know who at Ford designed that part but they need to be fired. It does have a great deal of torque consider it is a bit lower on the horsepower front. The car is pretty easy and cheap to maintain and it will run well if maintained well. It's a fun car to drive and pretty decent on purchase price and maintenance, but it is small and handles poorly.

Mustang — the car is amazing. It def gets attention. With a few custom things added to it like exhaust paint color sound system and some engine tweeking you would be very satisfied. I love it. Ima mustang girl all the way :)

Pros

Enexpensive fun muscle car

Cons

3.8L v6 is fairly low powered compared to vehicles nowadays, and it weighs alot so power to wieght ratio not very good. Lots to upgade to make competitive with newer cars.

Mustang! — Its a great car to own, if you like and are interested in owning a muscle car without the extreme price, these are great cars to get. build quility pretty good. car runs forever with very few needs for repairing. Has a pretty good interior and exterior styling. Lots of options for possible upgrading.

Pros

Great power with excellent MPGs!

Cons

No grease ports for the front axle joints.

Awesome 1997 Mustang — I love this car! Even with the V6 engine, it pulls hard from 1,9000 to 3,000 RPMs and can easily smoke the all-season tires from a stop. It must not have ABS because the brakes will lock up in a pinch. I've tested the gas mileage various times and consistently get 23 MPG city and 33-34 MPG highway with the 5-speed manual transmission. It now has 166,000 miles on the odometer and I've never had major engine repairs necessary. A slight amount of plastic in the interior is the only drawback I see. I added an after-market spoiler for the sake of appearance...but it could use new lifter arms for the trunk since it was originally not equipped for the added weight of the spoiler. It's fun to drive and the factory cruise control makes highway driving easy. There are a few squeaks and rattles now, but considering mileage I'm not complaining. One thing to consider is that it does not come with grease ports for the front axle joints. This has developed a squeak problem when the outside temperatures get over 80 degrees. Overall, it's a great car and I recommend it in every way!

Love the style of this car

Cons

Seat coverings were fuzzy

Love My Mustang — A wonderful year for Ford Mustang. I love the sleek and low design. The V6 was reasonably peppy and very reliable. That was mostly due to regular maintenance and the good car care from Yocum Ford. Did have to redo the wheels recently.

i like that it is very cheap to maintain

Cons

i hate that my mom gets the oil changed every 3 months when she drives to atlanta 3-4 days a week

It Really Is Built Ford Tough — its ok in the preformance area. it could have some more power and torque but hey, thats what the gts are for. its pretty reasonable for a sports car that are presumed to be owned mostly by girls. the car is very fun to drive.

Pros

If you can balance the horsepower and torque it's a great drive

Cons

Gas Gauge drives me insane

95

A Broken Beauty — I like the fact that the torque picks up great but the fact that the stock horsepower doesn't back up that amazing torque leaves you pouring in parts to balance it out for a good run time. Mileage isn't too bad. Gas gauge acts weird. Have True-Dual Cherrybomb Glasspacks. Sounds like a ricer. Euro Tail lights. Needs new shocks. Transmission needs work. has an oil leak.

Extremely easy to spin tires with

Cons

Would love the car more if the gas was better

Car Is Very Fun To Drive And "play" With — Being RWD the car has great handling in ideal conditions, has great braking, and being a V8 has great acceleration It is built great, it has typical noises that come with aging of a car The convertible top is a great plus in the appearane/style Gas mileage is typical of a V8 and maintenance is pretty average
