Pros

Great towing rig

Cons

Crew cab + short bed = lame

Love The Power & Versatility... — Great truck....it's got the 7.3L Powerstroke, and the best year possible (1997). Easy to work on, easy to turn up and get more power. Great for towing but also a good rig for around town...downside is combination of the crew cab (4 full doors) and a short bed. Backseat is roomy enough for 3, but bed isn't big enough to hold what you need. Still, love the truck.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Not A Car... Shes A Pickup — Has the 7.3 powerstroke that is bullet proof and can take lots of modifications. The acceleration is amazing when the turbo kicks in. MPGs are ok but we are talkin power and not economy. She makes rice rockets look like scum.

My Ford Diesel — the truck was amazing when it came to power, ESPECIALLY with the 5spd manual transmission! it did real well in the snow and was overall a real good truck to own! id like to have one just like it in the future, but hopefully a crew cab!

Pros

tons of power, decent fuel economy for it's size, lots of room in the interior, cool accessories, and good price.

Cons

huge maintenance fees, expensive fuel, tough to get in and out of parking spaces, parking garages, etc.

Amazing Power, Go Anywhere Do Anything Truck — As far as trucks go, it was top of the line for it's time. Only a year before had they introduced a turbo for the 7.3 power plant. It was fast, it was fun, with a 5 speed manual transmission, and a tough Dana 60 rearend. Quite spacious as well.

Cons

5-7 miles to the gallon, manual front hub lockouts, rough ride

Built Ford Tough — solid truck with plenty of power and torque...handles and brakes well for a big 3/4 ton truck. 4" skyjacker suspension lift 3" body sittin on 35's and a dana 60 outback.
