ProsSize, quality contruction, 3.5 v-6 motor, doesn't feel like cheap plastic junk Conswind noise in front doors.

Great Car — Bought in 1998 with 25,000 miles on it. Base model had been a rental. Now has 175,000 miles. It gets 25-28 mpg in real world driving. Replaced water pump and timing belt twice, which is about a $500.00 job but needs to be done every 75,000 miles. Replaced front brakes several times, but never needed to replace rear brakes. Needs struts I'm told as they are the originals, but car rides ok and tires wear well so I've held off. Wind noise around front windows - turn up the radio and live with it. This has been a fantastic, wonderful, reliable, comfortable car. Feels big and safe, handles well, plenty of power from the 3.5 v-6 engine. Transmission still works well with 175,000 miles on it. Had it flushed and conditioned at about 100,000 miles. That coast about $200. I still think its a nice looking car although the paint is starting to come off the roof. I'll drive it till it dies which may be anytime or another 100,000 miles or more. I've got other newer cars, but I still drive tis one most of the time. Love it. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsLoved the car. ConsDidn't like the electrical problem/

A Nice Car — This car was really nice. Sure, the fact that there was some sort of electrical problem was a drag but it was still a nice car. It used to go 250 miles on only half a tank of gas. Acceleration wasn't that great, but it braked and handled well. This was by far a favorite to drive, despite some mishaps. Would still have this car if it hadn't been in an automobile wreck and it got totalled. Primary Use: Commuting to work

Prosit's roomy and still gets good gas mileage ConsDoesn't fit in parking garage spaces very well it kind of wide

It's A Decent Family Car With A Kick Of Power — I love this car. It gets 20ish mpgs with a V6 while still having some giddy up when passing or merging on the freeway. The lines of the car are clean inside and out and the seven speaker stereo makes cruising in the car that much more enjoyable. The trunk is enormous while still being accesible. The only downsides are the width of the car and the tail lights are unnecessarily complicated to replace. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsNothing ConsThe valves tick, the acceleration sucks, it's tranny isn't very good, and there's a knocking sound coming from inside the intake

It's Not That Great Of A Car — Performance - acceleration is terrible, braking is alright, and handling is alright Build Quality - It has needed some repairs. The valves tick and the engine was just flushed a couple months ago Appearance - The exterior has a lot of scratches on it but the interior is alright Cost Of Ownership - It has average gas mileage and an average routine maintenance Fun Factor - It's not made anymore by Dodge

ProsEngine, V6, Interior/Exterior, good umph. ConsNeeded multiple repairs. 20/mpg.

Dodge Intrepid — Really great car. Good engine, V6, plenty of room inside. Also has surprisingly good trunk space. Lasts a good while, ran for over 150,000 miles. But has had continuius problems. I don't know if all of them do that or not. But still good, fun to drive, good speed. If you find one for good price and has no problems and good mileage, definate buy. Nice style both outside an in. Plenty of room for front, could be cramped in back. 20/mpg, Decent, but the v6 will eat up the gas a bit.

Not A Bad Car For The Money — I bought mine used in January 07 from my sister-in-law, and I have only had minor complaints, but nothing that isn't too easy, or can't wait to be fixed, suspension is kind of a complaint on my part, because I'd like it to ride a lot smoother. Only other complaint, and I don't know of a fix for this, is that when it rains, the belt can get wet, and squeal like a banshee. Love the interior, love the speaker layout, love the ride on the highway. Things to keep an eye on after 75,000 miles: tie rods, struts, alignment, and also, the fuel rail leaking problem can be solved by simply doubling up the o-ring.
