Overall:

Pros

Sports car looks
Nicely appointed, attractive and comfortable interior
Top worked well and sealed well, aside from a problem which is common for this car to have-the back window fell out

Cons

Sports car only applies to the looks
Brakes-for lack of a more diplomatic term-sucked big time
Power with the optional 2.5L V6 was lacking (my old '91 Escort LX with a 4 speed automatic could beat it)
Disappointing fuel economy from a small-bore V6

Handsome But Can't Dance — The 1997 Chrysler Sebring JXi is an attractive cruiser with a comfortable and well-appointed interior, but a lackluster engine, disappointing brakes and sloppy handling mar it's overall appeal. Comfortable also applies to the ride, though there is a tradeoff in poor handling at higher speeds. Brakes were spongy underfoot and pedal feel did not inspire confidence-stopping power was marginal at best. The uplevel V6 engine (up from a 2.4 liter inline four cylinder) was underwhelming in it's power delivery, although the optional Autostick might have mitigated any qualms with acceleration-power delivery was smooth at least, and the four speed electronically-controlled automatic shifted smoothly as well. Fuel economy was disappointing for such a small-bore V6, the 1997 Plymouth Voyager SE with the 3.0 liter V6 and three-speed auto that I owned while I owned this got better mileage on the freeway cycle. As long as you're not expecting to carve any canyons, and plan to just use it for it's intended purpose-looking good and comfortable cruising-you'll find much to like here.

Pros

The wonderfull style and the wonderfull infinity stereo

Cons

the accelleration and fuel consumption

Electrical Is Going Fine — This car has got a beautiful style and a wonderful stereo. The seats are comfortable and made of leather. The only small problem are the huge consumption of fuel and the lack in accelleration. The size are impressive and thanks to this the luggage van is huge.

Pretty decent gas mileage unless you're using the air conditioning

Bottom Line The Car Is Fun And Reliable, But It Could Use A Few Upgrades. — I really enjoy driving this car. It handles just as well as the sportier Avenger even though it's considerably heavier. It's a great summer car, put the top down and cruise around town. Just need to fix it up now and it'd be perfect.

Sebring — these older sebring are the best they made. such an incredible improvement finally over the old k car body. the handling is way above what you would expect. a more powerful V6 engine besides the 2.7 would have been great.

Too low to the ground

Sebring Lxi — Good for driving arround town, but try to avoid going onto step drives as it sets really low to the ground. Pretty good on gas mileage if you keep your foot out of the pedal. Not really any back seat so dont carry to many people.

You Take Care Of Her, And She'll Take Care Of You. — Shes got 182000 miles on her and hasnt had any major repairs. It has slowed in the past few years but thats to be expected. Still drives smooth and gets a reasonable 25-27 mpg. I still handles great and if it explodes today I couldnt complain.
