ProsQuality and Durability ConsNot the sportiest looking car.

1997 Chevy Lumina Ls 4 Door — Built like a Chevy. I've replaced spark plugs and wires and have done some brake work, but that's all I've had to do to this car. It is getting ready to break 178,000 miles and is still running strong. The only bad thing about this car is that the power window on the drivers' side stops working for a few seconds every now and then, but after a minute, it works again.....weird.

Impressive — I just bought this car. I love everything about it. Drives smooth. Seems newer than it is. I feel as though I am driving a new car. Original owners kept this car clean and I am going to do the same. Primary Use: Family transportation

Canadian Made — Its a car of good performance and lives up to the award winning Status that Luminas came to earn. This car itself was locked inside the GM Oshawa Car Plant during the strike of 1996. Dad bought it for mom and she gifted it to me. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsIf you take care of her, she'll return the favor for a long time.. ConsEVERYBODY HAS ONE!! They're quite popular..

Great Big Body Sedan W/ Slab Qualities.. (act Lyk U Kno) — The best part about this car was, though it was a Chevrolet, it really never gave me any problems. The LS had an awesome acceleration, like all Chevy's, that gave me a sexy launch off the line at a green light.. Only took about 30 bucks to fill her up and on a normal work/school week, I was more than content with the gas mileage.. I'd definitely buy another, if not the same one again.. It's a really easy car to keep clean because it doesn't have any random crevices or hard to reach spots.. Not to mention a pretty spacious back seat.. lol.. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsNice size, power, and features ConsIt was recalled because power steering tends to go out on left hand turns.

Its A Great Family Car. — Great family car, still runs like a charm and shines like a pearl. It has a little bit of understear at high speeds but it wasn't meant to be a performance car. I beat the crap out of it but it never stops putting out. Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsPower and comfort. Excellent power, quicker than most compacts and keeps up well with traffic. Hwy Gas mileage personal best is 8.2L/100km hwy! Excellent stereo, with two factory subwoofers! This car features a 6 way power driver seat, CD player with factory upgrade sound package, dual zone manual climate control! Power Locks, Mirrors, Keyless Entry with trunk release! ConsFloaty at times, common rust areas, short lived brakes.

1997 Chevrolet Lumina Ls Sedan — This car has decent power from a 3.1L v6 engine which produces about 160 hp. 0-60mph in about 9 seconds. It has the best lumbar support it is very supportive and comfortable. Perfect seating because you can seat 6. this car handles pretty well for quick cornering. Large Trunk so you can take lots of luggage for vacations. We have had it for 11 years and expect to keep it longer. No problems and only has 85,000km (2008) *Update* Have since replaced the 4L-60E transmission with a new unit at 118000kms Currently has 122950kms May 2013 Still love the car. Planning on fixing the common rust areas and a/c. Will keep this car on the road as long as possible! Love the car still! - May 2013 Primary Use: Commuting to work

I Love My Chevy Lumina — Average mid-size sedan. Very comfortable ride and strong engine. I've had very few problems since I bought it aside from normal wear and tear. I love my car for the comfort, handling, and drive. The only drawback is the appearance and styling. It's not a sports car at all and sometimes takes a little coaxing on the highway onramps. Over all though, it works perfectly for my lifestyle (work, kids, condo, etc.).

ProsGreat highway gas, EPA says 26mpg, I got about 31mpg going 70-80 mph and drafting with heavy traffic. ConsHard to judge where the front of the car really is in relation to the car in front of me. Can't handle my foot slamming the gas. Have had to replace a bunch of parts, kinda a lemon for me.

Gets Me From Place To Place But Not Fast Enough For My Lead Foot — Bought this car used and it performs ok. If I had some work done it probably would seem like a better car. I do push it to the limits and push the gas a bit too hard but overall its good for taking people from place to place and getting decent gas mileage.
