350, 4x4, and easily modable

Cons

handling and brakes

35

Amazing. — Its a damn good truck. 15 years old and drives the same as if it were brand new. 350 is debatabley the greatest engine ever made so theres no complains at all about the driveline. handles just like any other truck. brakes are pretty soft. not like any other trucks from 97 would stop on a dime either. awesome truck for the money.

Pros

Chevy 350 V8

Cons

Gas Guzzler

Good, Reliable Truck — Bulletproof motor, good performance. Wouldn't try adding a lot of performance upgrades to the motor without beefing up the trans. Gas sucks at $4 a gallon. But you will not get stuck in snow with 4wd. As with any vehicle, maintain it correctly and it will last.

Fun To Drive — Great for driving in snow. Handles well in snow. and drives right through it without any hasitation. Great for moving any heavy equipment or furniture. Also not to bad on the gas. Has a really strong built body. Overall a great pickup truck to have.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros

ext cab chevy is like having a car that seats 6 people and a truck to boot!

Cons

i traded it for a short bed 4x4! but traded it for another 97 with less miles and better shape!!

I Love My Truck! — with over 300,000 miles on this truck when i got rid of it it still ran great and i wished i had never traded it off. it had 4.3 automatic in it and got close to 20 miles a gallon and that is awesome for a full size truck.

it's a truck and a chevy...do you really need more reason?

Cons

careful about the brakes....otherwise, have fun!

Great Truck!!!! — works great, but after driving my jeep over bumps, this thing rides alot more like a truck than a car. drove it for more than a year, though, and that's one thing about it....it's lasted this long, it'll last longer. brakes are kinda soft, though

I Love It. Will Never Get Rid Of It. — I love my K1500 Ext Cab Silveraldo. Its a great truck. Tons of torque. Great looks. Awful on gas. Strong Engine and Trans. I have driven for 5 years and 60K miles. Only done regular service to 4x4 system. Will Pull anything put behind it. I Love it!!!

fun sporty and favorite truck ever built

Cons

not family friendly  but a crew or extended cab would fill that problem

25

Simply One Of The Best — considering it had a 4.3 v6 it was amazing it towed showed and got it done in style not the most winter friendly but one of my favorite vehicles to date should never have sold it and would highly reccomend buying any configuration of 88-98 chev half ton by far one of thebest engineered reliable trucks u can runn minor electric problems is my only gripe

Cons

Um...selling it

25

My 97 Z71 — I really liked this truck and it was awful having to sell it, it had great horsepower, big super swampers that went through everything, and looked nice doing it. I never had to do any major repairs, just general maintenance-because chevy trucks rule!!!

Dependable

Cons

nothing I can think of

25

Good Vehicle To Own, Or I Wouldn't Have Bought It — Typical intake gaskets sucking oil from engine or dumping antifreeze into engine oil. Better fuel economy with a K&N filter system, and synthetic oil. This vehicle tows and hauls great, also a comfortable ride if you have back problems.
