Pros

Cheap on gas, fairly low maitainance.

Cons

Alot of dealer only parts, and hard to work on. Once you are use to them and make a few "custom" tools its fine.

When It Breaks You Can Kick The Crap Out Of It And Not Regret It Later. — Handles great. Has sway bar and all that fun stuff. Can do 90degree turns in 2nd at 40kmph with no tires squeeling. Very plain interior but somehow I really ended up liking it. With the fold down back seats its amazing what can be packed in there.

You Get What You Pay For.... — Granted, this car only cost about $10,000. However, in the time I owned this car (and it got serviced every 3 months/3,000 miles), it died on the dealer's lot twice (two separate times) and the door seals leaked on both front doors.

Pos — The car breaks every other week, but is amazing to drive. It accelerates quickly, and gets great gas mileage. Feel like its about to explode after 75mph though.

Pros

Fun in the snow, fun to drive fast, great gas mileage when I'm not driving like a schmuck. Easy to drift in too.

Cons

Only two seats at the moment, and it being front wheel drive will suck when it's pushing 400 hp.

Nforcer — Way too much fun for such little power. But it will have plenty of that when I"m through with it.

Sleek, sporty, comfortable. Quiet inside, quiet outside. Fast and zippy for a 4 cylinder motor.

Cons

It doesn't have stock Ipod support??

Amazing Car — This is my second car I've owned now. My first car I received in high school, which was an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, 4 door, beige, and very boxy. This car is a ten-fold improvement. It is stick shift, sleek and sporty, and very fun to drive in. Although this car is only 5 years newer than my 91 Olds, this car was made almost ahead of its time. It is comfortable to drive, smooth to drive, and gets pretty nice mileage. I am going to try to hold on to this car as long as possible.

Overall, Good Little Car — Recently purchased used for my daughter, few little things to fix. Need help with the diagnostic portion because no codes are shown, just that it almost stalled.

Nice Economy Car. — I bought my 96 SL2 for $600, and for the cheap price its not bad. It's dead on one cylinder and I'm still getting 22 city. It burns a small amount of oil but I'm sure it's just a PCV valve. I love the 5spd manual it has, but I'm not very fond of the ratios: 30MPH in 4th at around 1900RPM. The sunroofs are known to break the guides, so occasionally the panel will need replaced, and on mine one of the drain tubes isn't working so my headliner and floor occasionally get wet. As usual with your Saturns, the back seat leg room is very small, I can't understand why they don't elongate the body slightly to allow more room. For an economy car, the performance isn't too bad: 0-60 in 8-10secs depending on how healthy the engine is - most economy cars are in the 10-18sec range. FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE CRITICIZING THE PERFORMANCE: remember that it's an ECONOMY car, NOT a SPORTS car. The trunk capacity is amazing for the overall size of the car, I can fit my 2.5gal gas can, my giant tool box, my Jeep's tire (235/75R15), two 5qt. jugs of oil, the service jack, a regular jack, a pair of 2 ton jack stands, and my star wrench and still have room leftover, and that's without the rear seat being folded over. As a mechanic, I can say that under the hood room for such a modern car is pretty good - you might have to occasionally remove the passenger front tire, but at least you can work on the damn thing.

Pros

Reliable most of the time, great gas mileage, not seen on the road as often as other makes of cars, still hits high speeds, pretty durable, i like the look of it, handles pretty well, it has a decent amount of room for carpooling, super cheap to repair, best of all i bought it for $600 bucks!

Cons

Back windows stay stuck down if they are rolled down or stay stuck up. Car is very loud and rumbles, everything in the car is too close together-cupholders, car charger, blinker signal, seat, steering wheel. Small rust spot on center of hood, sun roof doesn't work all the way just makes a loud grinding noise. Multiple recalls for this car for various reasons.

Its A Beater Which Is The Perfect Car For Me. Doesn't Talk Back Too Much. — I like the way my car looks, its decently comfortable. I don't like the rumbling and loud noise when driving it. It hasn't spent too much time in the shop. Gas mileage is good, maintenance, & repair costs are cheap. The car's acceleration is lacking but when it gets up to speed its great. Braking is actually pretty fantastic for my car. I have avoided multiple accidents with quick stops in it. Handling is great. I usually feel safe and in control driving it, occasionally it makes some crazy noises that I worry about or acts like it won't start but it always does. My car chooses when he wants to rev the engine, even when my foot is on the brake my rpm's will randomly rise. My car chooses when it wants to respond to me flooring it and when it doesn't. My car is a blast to drive! I named him Torque ironically.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Great Car. — Great car with great mpg. Great car to get if you're looking for a day to day driver. Only paid $600 for it because the last owner thought the owner was going bad, turns out all it needed was a tune up. Totaled the car years back, still miss it.

The Green Hornet — good buy for a small used car. compared to my old car it goes like stink. if only i had money to put into more performance parts. i have a cold air intake and performance chip on it...they do alot, especially since they bumped my fuel mileage from 30hwy up to 41!
