Pros

Comfortable, good power for a 4cyl sedan.

Cons

Its no show stopper in the appearance department.

Inexpensive, Comfortable, Roomy — Performance: Highest HP rating of any car in its class. Has plenty of power for what it is and somewhat surprisingly spunky for being a 4cyl. Build Quality: As you would expect, I suppose. I find it to be nicer than most vehicles in its class. Obviously still a 96 japanese vehicle, but beats even some newer cars IMHO. Appearance: Not my cup of tea personally, but its not ugly. Nice exterior mods can make this car look good. Cost: Extremely inexpensive to purchase a used one. about $42 to fill up ($3.10/gal). Cheap maintenance compared to other vehicles in its class.

Start Driving With Class — It was my first car. I had to love it. As an economy import, the Altima represents a mildly classy interior with an average exterior appearance for the year. The seats were notably comfortable. While it may not stand out in a crowd, reliability was very important as this was previously my dad's ride. Having high mileage didn't stop it from getting me from one place to the next with more style than my friends who were driving older, uglier cars. It may not be anyone's dream car, but the Nissan Altima is a great start.

Great, Reliable, Inexpensive To Maintain Car — I bought this car car when it was 6 years old. I have it for almost 8 years now and I still love it. It still runs smoothly. The body is still clean with only tiny (less than 1/2 inch) rust spots. Gas mileage is still great (27 - 28 mpg) with a majority of highway driving. In the years I've had it, had to replace muffler, CO2 sensor and catalytic converter. Otherwise, all i pay for are oil changes and gas. I'm at 160k miles now and i'm sure it will get to 200k.

A Great All Around Car That Can Be Sporty And Family — handles awesome, quick mid to top speed acceleration. slow from a start, but quick once its moving built to last, styling is nice, good gas mileage, cheap to maintain, has some performance options out there one of the best cars in its class and the name is still around today, bringing an even better altima into the game

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

This Car Is Amazing, Nissan Did A Great Job To This Car — For the Year (96') its a badass car. I mean the handling and Accel, are amazing. If i take off hard it shifts out of 1st gear at a high rpm, which in my eyes is awesome. All and All there is nothing wrong with it, beside the fact that it has 150,000 miles in it thats the only not so great thing. Its alot of fun to drive
