Considered tastefully conservative, and luxurious in power, styling, and engineering, the 1996 Mercedes-Benz C220 4-door sedan, doesn't come standard with a leather interior, although one is certainly optional. Standard issue is what's called M-B Tex, a synthetic leather look-alike that feels pretty close. The wood trim, though, is real walnut.
New to the '96 Mercedes C-class is a slightly altered instrument panel, even more rear legroom, cruise control an a remote-entry system. A traction control system is also added as an option.
Some have complained about the sound system and CD changer being a bit unreliable. Many believe that the acceleration can be a tad slow, but if also say that if you need to drive for days, this is the car to count on.
The car (naturally, it's a Mercedes-Benz) is considered quite safe, and eminently dependable.
