My Take On The Chevrolet Blazer — I own a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, and it's been a god car to me, I love the four wheel drive feature, performance, rather slow haha but better then some. Cost of ownership is right in the middle I mean it does suck more fuel then your normal car I average about 20mpg highway but it's the city that just kills me. I wouldn't be afraid to dive it cross country it's just a nice car to own

A Good Daily Driver, Can Haul Quite A Bit In The Back, Seats Four Comfortably. — Was a very nice vehicle, very comfortable and had decent power, handling was pretty good too, fuel economy was around 21-22 highway with a cold air intake and flowmaster exhaust. Mine did not pull great but was equipped with 3.08 gears, lower gears were available. Reliablitiy is questionable, transmission leaked quite a bit, intake manifold gasket blew, outward luckily, radiator blew, fuel guage was wacky.

Five Months Of Owning A Used '96 Blazer — This car is my vision of an honestly mediocre car. The 4.3L V6 did what it was built to do. It wasn't fast, but didn't have a problem getting up to speed, and made a whole lot of noise in the process. I always thought it was an unusually loud motor, but with an engine that big, it wont be quiet. The build wasn't terrible, but definitely had lots of room for improvement. The first thing I did when I bought the car was flush out the Dexcool--something I'd recommend everyone does if they own this car. In the 5 months I owned it (bought used at the end of 2006 with 150K+ miles), I had to replace the transmission and had an incessant problem with the EGR valve causing misfires. The interior was a classic GM interior: cheap. Not a whole lot else to that. It wasn't a pretty car, but the previous owner kept the paint in amazing condition. The cost of owning this car, as compared to what it was used for, was far too high, which was half the reason I got rid of the car. The other reason (a big one for me) was that it was an automatic. I cannot stand automatic transmissions, which also counts into the fun factor. It was a great car for snow, but thats all it really excelled at. Otherwise, I found it rather mundane. If you want a questionably reliable daily driver capable of tackling a good bit of snow, as well as the occasional towing, this is a good car for you. If you just want a daily driver that will get you from point A to point B, I'd recommend against this.

I Love My Blazer! — The only repairs needed on my 1996 Chevrolet Blazer LT (all-wheel-drive)in 100,000 miles, (besides normal maintenance), has been replacement of a fan clutch (once), a water pump (once) and a fuel pump (once)!!! That is it...!!!

Worth Fixing Up And Keeping — I like the look of the Blazer, the Interior is very comfortable the back seats fold down to allow more room in the back for hauling large loads. There isn't very many blind spots on this truck it has windows all the way around. My vehicle has only been in the shop once, the gas mileage is pretty convenient for a 4.3 liter V6 engine. The maintenance and repairs were very affordable GM vehicles American made vehicles. The cars acceleration braking and handling are all good I enjoy driving this truck I usually drive fast so I feel pretty safe in it. It is a fun car to drive 4x4 helps when going hunting or stuck on a small muddy road.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Red Suv — guy i got it from dropped in an engine from an older s10. really reliable. it gets between 20 and 22 mpg on the highway. its not so bad. has a really nice sound system with inverted subs and, mids, and tweets to swirl the sound around you in the car. makes castles in the sand (hendrix) ridiculous. this thing is built real tough too. some guys hit me the other day and muffed up their lexus with my tow hitch and i didn't get a scratch.

Piece Of S***!!! — Very unreliable vehicle due to its constant breakdowns. I ended up spending # times what the vehicle was worth on parts within the first three months of owning the vehicle. The 4x4 was also unreliable as it constantly refused to work. It didn't get very good gas millage for its relative size.
