Pros

Sheer fun! Great soundtrack!

Cons

Running costs! Fortunately, they're supposedly quite reliable.

I Now Understand Why It's Often Said You Should Drive A Porsche 911 At Least Once In Your Life. — The chance to drive this car came about by pure chance and luck. I was attending a classic and sports cars exhibit. Alongside there was also an event with more modern sports cars and luxury cars for sale (Ferraris, Astons, Porsches, Jaguars, BMWs, Mercs). A relative of mine knew one of the guys who was selling cars there. He had about 9 cars there, and he needed some help taking all of them back to his showroom. So we got to give him a hand! I had the pleasure of taking a Porsche 911 (993) Carrera 2 Coupé. Didn't really go all out for top speed, but I had the chance to open the tap for a few bursts of acceleration. Just a shame it was running on fumes, because we had a trip of about 40km to do. Still, it was sheer fun! And that sound... Definitely an experience i'll never forget!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

It's Like Being On Vacation — Loved the handling, control, speed, and sheer elegance and sleekness of it. The body style has all the curves of what a true sports car should have. When you take a rid in this car you understand why people rave about Porsche.

Love It! — Superb acceleration between 100 - 200 km/h, excellent high speed cornering, nice & precise Brembo brake. Excellent build quality, no repair needed for both interior and exterior. Cost of Ownership is quite high, she requires 12 liters of engine oil and comsumes 1 liter for every 1,000 km. Consumes a lot of gas!!!

Very Good Car — the power of the engine was endless. I would recomend this car to a proper car guy. The 993 carrera is a very fast, reliable porsche. the black on black version is very rare to find. it is a fun car to drive in around small streets and fun to go on highway.

The Most Beautiful 911 And Best Air Cooled 911 Ever! — I owned a 993C4S a few years ago and whilst looks-wise, with it's pumped up rear haunches, it was even more gorgeous, that car was nowhere near as nice to drive. This one handles, rides and steers as well superbly, combined with vault like build, wailing flat 6 and sheer speed....intoxicating :-)

Pros

Flat 6 motor provides good power from low revs & sounds great. Well built inside & out. Tasteful styling. AWD grip, handling, great brakes!

Cons

Some ergonomic flaws - haphazardly placed switchgear. Seating position slightly offset.

The Everyday Supercar — This was the 993, last of the air cooled 911s. I'd have one over a 996 but the 997 is where my money would go.
