Pros

Decent handling, relatively comfortable interior, and an okay sound system.

Cons

Performance, gas mileage, reliability, build quality, lack of gear selector position indicator on dashboard, no optional gauges (tach, battery, oil pressure).

Good For The Average Commuter, Useless For Those Who Demand Any Kind Of Performance — After the Buick died due to a supermassive transmission failure, I was forced to condescend to the level of the average high school student and drive a bottom-end economy car. Although it supposedly provides somewhat spirited performance with the optional 3.1 L V6, the 2.4 L Quad 4 engine is abysmal. Although this is supposed to be an economy car, I have averaged about 20 mpg through the 6 months I have driven this car. This would be acceptable if it provided at least decent performance, but it is equally lackluster in this area. Throttle response is slow, takeoffs are slower, and the engine provides plenty of bark at high rpm's but not much bite. The car is also extremely noisy on the highway and freeway, due in part to the constant need to downshift to maintain speed even on slight downhill grades. The build quality is terrible. The interior pieces constantly squeak and don't fit together very well. There is also excessive road noise at highway speeds. This car does have some good points. The sound system is pretty good for a mid-90's economy car, and the seats are fairly comfortable, although the position makes it difficult for shorter drivers to see the road. There is also plenty of legroom in the front seats. My personal favorite feature of this car is the huge amount and variety of storage spaces in the front, especially the dual gloveboxes, although the only cupholder in the center console is awkwardly positioned under the radio and there is no cupholder in the center glovebox.

Get It If You Want A Pre Tuned Car That Doesnt Need Alot Of Work — awesome car, dohc turborcharged, trac controll out da ass, limited slip, spoiler and the only fluid you need to put in is water and oil and gas (duh) the only problem i have had is it bottoms out too easy, i learned that when i ruptured my oil tank. lol, kayala was there.

Pros

Space, handling, good build, exterior is nice.

Cons

radio needs fixed, air needs fixed, color, and dont like that if 1 thing messes up then it causes other stuff 2 mess up.

2nd Car That I Have Had — I like that its not a gas hog! And its smooth riding. I dislike the radio, and that it always seems 2 mess up. I like that it can handle good when i need 2 speed a little. I dont like that it is white. Purple is my color. Like that is spacey 4 a car.

Pros

Great handling... alittle heavy on turns but the torque pulled u hard around the curves..i liked the front end design of this car the rear as well all smooth.. the lights and grill give a mean strong appearance

Cons

the 3100 series motor was a good motor but the intake manifold gaskests /head gaskets went...on every 3100 v6 i had from the 90's they all died the same exact way.. so id rather would have had the 3300 or 3800

The Good Old Grand Am — Good Power out of the 3.1 those tires had no problem loosing grip.... Got mine up to 110 on I-95. My drivers side Electric window didnt work so paying tolls was a pain in the as so i put a screw driver in the door panel to hold the window up and pulled it out to let it fall back down again..lol

My Grand Am — if there was a car out there that you owned and loved until it broke this would be the one. It was reliable until it broke for the first time then it just went down hill from there. I wish it was easier to fix but it really does suck being the fact that it has a dual over head cam, and everything is driven by the timing.

Pros

Good amount of power

Cons

Avoid the 3 speed (Edit: If given more power this tranny should work fine)

Small, Sporty, And Practical — 2dr sport coupe. 2.3L L4, 3 speed w/ OD auto. Avg mpg - 25 3 speed makes for slower acceleration: first 2 gears are good, 3rd gear's power band spread too far and wide (Edit: Gears 1 and 2 are fine. 3rd and OD are a little off) 2.3 offers 150 hp and 155 ft-lbs.
