1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT 2 Dr STD Hatchback Review
ProsFun and relaxing to drive. Decent mileage on the highway. ConsHeavy, Premium gas, More true GT than sport car.
95
Made For Two To Go. — We just bought this car in Apr of 2010 with 103k miles. There have been a couple rattles and electrical let downs, but then considering the age of the car and the fact that it's been in storage for almost 10 years I am more than willing to work those out in the garage. Other than that the car is just plain fun to drive. It feels a bit heavy at low speed and aroud town but comes to life at high speed, corners hard, and brakes well remembering this is a '95. The gas mileage has been a huge surprise on the highway. It's not far off my commuter...if you can find a way to keep your foot out of it. The biggest problem I find on the highway is keeping it even close to the speed limit because it drives so well. The car is very comfortable. My wife and I drove from Boston, MA to VA pretty much none stop (a 435+ mile trip). When we reached VA 50+ miles south of DC we felt quite ready to keep going. The car has Sikkens flip flop paint so it is quite a head turner with those great lines. We can't wait to continue upgrading the interior and sound system. When my wife passes me (with ease) on the highway she looks like she's in a far more expensive low slung and wide sport car. The dash has a lot of plastics and the interior is just a bit dated if not funtional. The good news is that the base has fewer gee wiz things to go wrong. The only repair since we bought it has been the master cylinder. Otherwise it's just been gas and oil. It is my wife's weekend/sunny day car so we only put about 2.5k miles on it over the last year. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsLooks, Mileage, WOW factor ConsSmall amount of power for a sports car, but still good for such a small V6. The car also weighs a lot

Jeff's 3000gt — For a small V6, this car has pretty good pickup. It also gets pretty good gas mileage for a sports car, even though it requires premium gasoline. Mine has 130000 miles on it and still runs like a champ. But by far the best part about this car is the wow factor you get driving it around. There are very few cars that turn heads quite like this one. |

ProsRare, timeless looks ConsVery hard to get special parts

Amazing Technology And Always Looks Good — Mitsubishi put a ton of engineering into the 3000GT and it peaked in 1995 with the 3000GT VR-4 Spyder, all all-wheel-drive, twin turbo, 6-speed, 4 wheel steer, and steel retractable hardtop. Amazing today as it was then. Ony 714 units sold in 2 years of the convertible option. Very rare and soon, very collectible. |

ProsHandles good, drives nice, looks great. ConsNeeds new paint, has no turbo

1995 Mitsubishi 3000gt — It looks really good, The tires are really good and look good also, exhaust could be louder but i like it. Cold air intake lets the car really breath. I really need a turbo to really add the horse power. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsLove the looks, power and handling. ConsRattles a bit and you cant get the top seals to fix that issue.

Spyder In A Nutshell. — Awesome play toy, your not hauling more than 2 people and day bags. the back seat should have been eliminated. If you want something easy to work on look else where. All that said i wouldnt trade for anything else. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Great Car But Learn How To Work On Them Or Get Rich. — 320 hp 315ft lbs, awesome to drive requires alot of maintenance and parts are not cheap. AS the car gets older it gets harder to find parts. Definitely not meant for familys, the four seats really only fit 2.5 people but drop the top and feel the wind and it doesnt matter. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsCar is fast without "killer" speed. ConsOnly a single or two person vehicle. No storage

Great Driver — This was my first corvette. I love the C5 but really liked the old C3's. I now have four of the old C3's and would like to buy more. Only bad thing is that the C5 has the safety equipment. The C3''s are void of any safety equipment except seat belts. Primary Use: Family transportation |

ProsAWD, AWS (all wheel steering), turbocharged, 6 speed manual transmission, fast car, head turner, excellent in winter with dedicated studless winter tires, nice gadgets for the 1990s (active aero, electronically controlled suspension, power driver seat, targa top sunroof, power antena). Consheavy vehicle

Great Looking, Fast, Awd Sports Car With 6 Speed Manual Transmission — Owned this car for 11 years and it has been great. Excelent in all weather, if you equip it appropriately with the right tires (summer Y rated tires for spring, summer and fall) and winter studless tires for winter. 0-60 in 4.8 sec after you add a boost controller. 1/4 mile in 12.9 sec at 110 mph. Fuel mileage is 25 mpg on the highway cruising at 75 mph, however, driving faster on the highway and having some city traffic will decrease your mpg. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Mechanical, Full-time All Wheel Drive. Will Last Forever. — One owner car. Garaged, maintained and adult-driven. Leather on front seats replaced to factory spec. Stock except for K&N air filter, aluminum radiator and upgraded brakes and clutch. Four extra 18" wheels, shop manuals included. 320 HP, 315 lbs torque, all wheel drive, 4-wheel steering. A real gem. Amazing in the rain! Needs some paint work in a few spots. Primary Use: Commuting to work |
