1995 Chevrolet S-10 2 Dr LS Standard Cab LB Review
ProsThey run longer than most new cars on the road today. It's not unusual to see an S-10 with over 200K on the odometer. ConsDiscontinued model. But - Parts are still plentiful.

Little Red Chevy S-10 — 2 rear wheel drive - sand bags in the back, or simply garage it on the 1st snow. The only time I see them around town is mid-spring until late fall, like my fiancee does, she parks it in the garage all winter, (use of liquid salt solution, is just plain lethal to the undercarriage and paint). We've towed and hauled just about everything under the sun with this small truck. (It came with a heavy duty tow package/suspension). The bench seat is actually comfortable, the ride is better than some cars I've riden in, especially for long trips. Visibility is excellent. Tie down points are placed well, although she decided to add stainless steel bed rails to facilitate strapping down larger loads (they look nice too). Currently with only 93K on the odometer, she (the truck) still runs very well. The usual water pump, master cylinder, new tires, tranny flush, and other normal maintenance has been done over the years... all in all, it's been and continues to be.. a very, very, reliable vehicle. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Prosi love this truck. i orig paid 1800 for it, and untill yesterday it was dropped to the floor. i raised it back to stock and an "De-low ridering ' it as we speak. next is new rims riding my self of the wires in favor of aloy's. 4 cyl and 5 speed is great!! I juiced up the engine by balanceing the motor--performance over head cam, custom ported heads w/ steel valves and seats. brass rods and forged .60 over pistons. i added a 2000Lb. Pressure plate, and 3/8 over stock clutch disc, wet or dry..cover or no.. but i used the stock 2 peice cover just in case..i now removed the 2 in drop spindles for stock, removed the rear 6 inches of blocks, i think in these pics the back is up and the front still down. it was a crappy rided, now up high i LOVE IT! looking for 17 inch rims and tires and a rear bumper/ stock or chrome..ty every 1! The 2.2 w 5 spd gets like 40 m.p.g.--Awesome! Conshad to remove the rear seats for a custom sound box and 2 amps. the new starter sounds like crap and they place it in there so good that you almost have to remove the left side exhaust to remove it. She is now killing my batt, as i have no capacitors for the 2 HUGE amps and set of 4 -15 in mtx thunders, i have no room in the cab..interior is all custom, buckets and console. every goodie..nav 2 t.v.s --ps 3 and wii..no cons really now all i need is my rims! I have 2 in drop spindles and ebhard springs plus 2 sets of 4 tires and rims!!!! help--all i need is aome stock alum rims..lol

Bad S-10 — i like every thing, 2.2 cant kill and i made HUGE power come out of it for around 2400. i have less than $6,000 into her and she is up high and has many extras. she iis not for sale,,,lol Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Strong Little Truck — Incredibly durable and strong long lasting truck. never have any problems with it. it's an old work truck, and even though its got a few bumps and scratches, its never let me down once. its a great little truck to drive, can haul almost anything, and is the best truck i think i've ever driven.

ProsWith the 5 Speed manual in summer time driving you are looking at 20-24mpg ConsNot so good for winter with the 2wd (getting 16-18)
25
Not My Style — Don't like the single cab (with never get one again) with the no room for anything you can never go grocery shopping on a raining/snowing day But to some up this is one of the best truck for a teenage guy that wants to learn manual driving Better on gas then a 1500+ with a V8 gas or a diesel engine (Would save a teenage that only has a partime job on gas) Primary Use: Commuting to work

ProsThis s10 will blow any other stock s10 out of the water. ConsThe rear leaf springs can't hold very much withour sagging.

1995 S10 Ls 4x4 — My s10 has a 4.3L V6 Vortec. It is blue with gray trim. Unlike most s10's it hasn't rusted out. all the s10's i've seen around here are newwer than mine and are already rusted out. it is also very fun to drive. i was going to put on a glasspack, but when i put it on, it sounded no different than the OEM, so i ended up streightpiping it. unfortunately it didn't help the gas milage any. it still gets just under 20 mpg because it has 30" Good Year Wrangler Radials.

Prosit alvways works Consits slow
25
My Trusty Chevrolet — bit slow, works well, can fit my dirt bike on the bed. i was thinking about buying another one but this one always works its got about 160.000 miles on the clock and is still working fine. it is a great car to drive and does not use a lot of fuel when you are just driving, so i drive it alt and have fun doing it. it does not cost much to fix it parts are cheap and i can fix almost everything my self. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

ProsGot this 95 on a chance for $1500....lotsa TLC!! ConsNone at all..could use a bit more power----will convert to V-8 one day
25
Un-killable S-10 W/ Nearly 200,000 — It's all good..No complaints to speak of!! Picked it up used, as a 40% basket case---tuneup, oil change, 4 shocks, tires and instrument cluster needed to be replaced.put in less than $1000, which is really nothing these days, especially when brought to a shop for some of this. Wax and cleaners and tons of elbow grease made the difference. Primary Use: Family transportation
