Pros

Great Truck

Cons

Needs things like door pockets

Reliable — I dont see many 4.3 4x4 full size trucks. It has plenty enough power in this TBI v6. I love the simplicity of the throttle body, it's not the fastest vehicle out there but can cruise at 80 if i want to.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros

Very tough and relieable

Cons

Gas mileage and rear gears.

Very Tough And Strong But Rear Gears Take Some Power And Mileage Is Laking — This truck is very tough. It has 211,000 miles on it. We put a motor in at 198,000. The tranny has 211,000 miles on it and we tow a number of trailers regulary. The truck has never let us down. It get about 13 mpg aroud town. When towing it gets 8 to 10 mpg. On the highway it gets 15 to 16 mpg. The truck has a 350 V8 but loses some power with the 3.32 rear gears.Even with the rear gears it still pulls our 3000lb tractor on a 1700lb trailer with no problem.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Excelent Truck That I Will Teach My 4 Children To Driven. Well Maybe Not I Love It To Much. — I love my truck. Lots of room with a great ride and pulls better than the other 1/2ton trucks of the same year. Just wish I had found a 96 with 3rd door on extcab. Still have it and wont sell but also have 99 crew cab that I got since I love this one so much.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros

Great transmission, long lasting, easy to work with, 4x4 capabilities.

Cons

Poor gas mileage, no skid plates, bolt on front header tends to break out on these model years.

My First 4x4 — This is my first vehicle. I love it, couldn't asking for anything more. This truck has gotten me through thick and thin. With its 5.7 L throttle body Vortec engine this truck can take off, off the line. This truck has a ton of power and great towing capibility. Great offroading ability too. I bought this truck for about $4,000 and couldn't ask for a better truck. Sure its needed its fair share of repairs, but all used cars do. What I like about this truck is how easy it is to work inside the hood, without the clutter of computers and big airfilters. Basicly a simple engine. Put new nascar plugs and wires in it and runs great. Mapping sensor, ERG Valve, throttle body gasket and 02 sensor have also been replaced. New performance air filter and new fan belt. All new brakes all around (rotors and drums). Cut the parking brake out. 4 wheel drive works great, only wish i add electric 4 wheel drive so I don't have to have the truck in neutral to put into different 4 wheel drive options. All in all this truck is a great truck and i would recommend it to any first time truck buyers. Chevy is #1!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

1995 Chevrolet 1500 Ext. Cab Short Box — I have ownd my 95' Chevy ext cab for for five years and it is still looks new. It is a very solid truck and has needed only standard repairs, this truck is solid as ever. I enjoy driving my pickup everyday because it stands out from the crowd. I have had costum house of colors hugger orange racing stripes painted on the hood and tailgate, after market wheels and mud tires, and many other extras. The truck performs great for a half ton pickup, it is the 5.7L V8. It has a performance chip and a shift improver kit, that gives a noticable difference. The truck is a blast to drive. The acceleration for this year of truck is above average, breaks great and handles as can be expected. This year of truck is the most practicle model made yet. The cost, durrability and overall craftsmanship is unbeatable.

Beast — Awesome, wanted a lifted older truck and so i chose this one and couldnt be happier. has not gotten stuck handles well for a lifted truck and rides smoother for an older truck. still drive in the mud and snow every year.

Awsome Work Truck — great work truck, sounds good, not bad on fuel, looks good, good tires, pulls anything, great 4x4, 5.7 truck was fairly cheap, drove it home, passed safety, runs good, straight body, truck is fun to drive. truck could use some servicing, maybe a new motor and tranny, make it a new truck all over again, would be worth every penny

Pros

Its one body style chevy did not screw up

Cons

wish it got a little better mileage since it is my daily driver

Just Wish It Was A Vortec — It has more power than most TBI 350s but gets the same mileage No matter how nice i drive it i get about 13.5. It has 26XXXX miles so i've had to fix some rust by putting new fenders on it and ball joints and tie rod ends. Rides on Cooper ST Maxx 265/75/16 with aluminum rims. Dual Straights with 45s and Stainless tips

This Truck Is My Baby.... — performance: this truck has an excellent power to weight ratio it. im getting 398hp and 400ft/lb of torque. with the stage three breaking system this truck will stop on a dime and im not exaggerating. this truck has a stock suspension system on it but i have been very impressed about the way it handles you would just have to drive it to know what i mean. Build quality: this truck has been true to its name ''chevrolet'' this truck is tuff i have had no mechanical problems with this truck at all. the only thing i have changed that needed changed is my serpentine belt that it. it has no squeaks or rattles at all. Apperance: i am in the process of refurbishing this truck i am going to completly redo the truck inside and out from the ground up but in my opinion this truck looks very stylish and sleek. Cost of ownership: this truck gets from 17-22 mpg and i change the oil, oilfilter, cold airintake filter, and i flush my throttlebody with seafoam. and that costs around $120. Fun Factor: this truck is very fun to drive it is a five speed manual and with all that torque the tires will cut loose easy. and if you really want to have some fun find and abandond parking lot on a rainy day thats all i have to say.
