Decent For First Time Buyers. — Most Berettas come standard with 4-Cylinder Engines so they don't burn through your gas like other cars might. They can be bought for a very low price; I bought my '95 for $800; I met a guy who is selling a '94 for $500. I believe that most Berettas (if not all) do not come standard with Anti-Lock Breaking. With that said, they do handle snow quite well; however, if you go into a slide, you're going to have to tap that break and straighten her out. Early models had a problem with the engine making a "clinking" sound and the earliest models had a problem with how the steering wheel was attached. It is an older car and it is American, so it's likely that any Beretta is going to have it's share of problems. Currently, my transmission is slowly going and I've gained a slow leak in my Engine coolant. Fixing a transmission can be pretty expensive but it's also possible to just but another Beretta and either transplant the new transmission or simply drive the new Beretta depending on the relative quality of both cars. |

Fun. — Performance: Acceleration = Bat out of hell. Build Quality: A few problems, but not bad for 150k miles. Appearance: Looks a bit snub nosed. I like the tail though. Cost of ownership: Low Fun Factor: A lot of fun to drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work |

ProsEXCELLENT PERFORMANCE, awesome engine note Consexpensive to replace "Z" tires, poor interior, not very comfortable or spacious

Good While It Lasted — I had the car for around a month, got hit head on the second day i owned it and had to replace the radiator... for some reason the engine had trouble starting when it was below freezing, and that's odd for a fuel injected motor. The car was VERY fast and had EXCELLENT off the line performance. (lots of low end torque) Car made an amazing engine note when full throttle with it's aftermarket short ram intake. There wasn't a lot of room though, and the interior felt very cheap. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

A Nice Car To Do Whatever You Want In! — Love it!! Its got balls for what it is! Handling is amazing. The 3.1 is a really good reliable engine. Even when the head gasket blew and eploded my radiator hose off it still ran for a long time. All i did was put some new gaskets in it and it ran perfectly fine, no warped heads or anything. Well actually what i just said was about my 94 z26 i had before i got smashed by a drunk guy driving a new Ford Cumstang!! The only thing i dont like about these cars is the rusting above the rear springs, i pushed one through the frame on my 94, although i did do a 180 ebrake into a pothole that i didnt know was there! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

ProsFun ConsLot of problems

Love It, But Needs Too Much Work To Be Worth It — Awesome car, but the engine is having a lot of problems. Its pretty quick, but has more toque than HP. Decent gas mileage, but fixing it is kind expensive, for me at least. If I could afford to do and engine swap, I believe this car could be AWESOME! Primary Use: Family transportation |

A Fine Automobile — this car was a beast! ran great i drove it like i stole it and it had over 210,000mi. not bad performance for its age and mileage. interior was like brand new. handling was great. had some lift off oversteer when turning at high speeds. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) |

Sporty And Fun And Ecconomicle — Betty was nice inside and out, was really good on gas, and had decent acceleration and handling. unfortunately due to lake of car knowledge on my part and a miss communication between me and my father, Betty succumbed to severe mechanical breakdown Primary Use: Commuting to work |

Beretta — Loved my first car!!!!! It handled awesome. Had the bra on the front. It added a nice touch. The gas mileage was great considering I didn't have a job at the time. It was a great cruise around car. NOT MADE FOR RAMPING THOUGH THAT WAS HOW IT MET THE END OF THE LINE AND GOT SENT TO THE SCRAP YARD. |
